Let's talk wedding hair and make-up

I can't believe it, but tomorrow we kick-off Courtney's wedding weekend extravaganza with the bridesmaid luncheon, rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.  It's going to be a busy day! Considering I've practically had the exact same look in every wedding I've been a part of, I took to Pinterest last night for some wedding beauty inspiration.

But first, won't you come with me for a trip down wedding memory lane?

Curled and half-up for my friend Liz's nuptials:

Curled and half-up for my friend Kathryn's:

And would you look at this?  Curled and half up for my friend Christina's I do's:

I really went out on a limb here and left all my hair down for my friend Megan's:

There is definitely a pattern so I was hoping to find some looks that would mix it up bit.  However, you'll see that I'm proof a leopard can't change its spots.  Below are my top four contenders, and I need your help picking a finalist.

Can you take a wild guess as to who turned this next haute hair option out??  Number four is from the hands of our girl Miss Pink Lou Lou herself!
There is no way I could do this next one myself (unless of course I could persuade PLL to hop on a plane to Dallas for the weekend to do it for me), but it gets honorable mention because it is just a fab up-do. Am I right or am I right?

That concludes my hair options, so now let's talk ...

Our bridesmaid dresses are a dark grey, so I'll be creating a smokey eye like so. Approve?

Would you believe Courtney is trusting me to do her make-up for her big day? We did a trial-run a few months ago, and this is the finished product. It's a deep brown smokey eye with a neutral lip:

I've seen her in the dress with full hair and make-up, and she's going to be a gorgeous bride.   I just need to make sure I look half as good standing up next to her.  So help a girl out!  Which hair style should I go with?

  1. I love option no. one. I am going to do something similar for a wedding I am in, in April!

  2. 1. I find it highly hateful of you to joke about me hoping on a plane to Dallas, as you know I wish I was there right now with Carol.

    2. I most certainly could do that updo for you, and coiffed one quite similar for Chrissy back in September. So thanks for believing in me always.

    3. Thanks for the loving shout out miss thang. I adore you as you know all too well.

    4. Great job on da makeup girl. great job.

    xoxo PLL

  3. I'm totally partial to half up with curls (did it for my own wedding), and I love to rock a bump b/c I am terrible at teasing hair myself. So, my vote is 3 or 4. You have such long, awesome hair I don't think you can go too wrong. Totes impressed on the makeup too. (PS. It's so cool when you post pics of people I know!)

  4. i wish i could be a master at hair and make up like you. but i'm not. i suck. i need to look up some tutorials of my own so i can perfect some type of look for my formal next saturday. i also need to call Rent the Runway today to order a new dress...i think the dress i originally ordered to rent is going to be WAY TOO snug. #fatty

  6. You are on the wedding circuit alright! I love weddings. I'd say option two because it is the most unique and most different looking from all the other do you normally go with.

  7. Number 1!! Hands down. I think you subconsciously put it as the first one because it's your favorite as well... I mean, think about it. ;)

  9. I say #2 just to mix it up a little!!! All down and beautimous with just a little pulled back out of your face so you don't have to worry about it!

I want to remember this post for my hair/makeup appointment for my wedding. I've been going through different looks, but these are my FAVORITE!!!!

  24. i think the way you have your hair (half up and curled) looks HAWTTT on you!

have you thought up-do's?! like the honorable mention pic!?! you could totally pull that off where most girlies couldnt!

  25. #2 fo sho!!!! I think that it would be so cool and different to have the front of your hair pinned back!!! Its not to different from the half ups but it keeps the hair out of your face and would be awesome for dancing the night away!!!

  26. I love number one and think that you did a great job on the make up! Can't wait to see what you decide!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I say #2, but I really love the honorable mention!

  28. #1 or 2! Very pretty!! And smokey eyes are so sexy!! I"m sure you'll look great with whichever you choose! Have fun :)

  29. I love #1 it's so playful but sexy! Hot! 4 is amazing if you could pull it off! Seems hard to do all by yourself though unless you had octopus arms or something! Good luck girl! You'll be so gorgeous no matter what your hair looks like!

  30. I'm squealing cause I love all your options, you look gorgeous in all your bridesmaid photos, and Courtney looks amazing--you're quite the makeup artist!! I love hair #1 best, I think. Pretty, simple, low-maintenance (I think). The key is not to have a billion bobby pins in it, cause that shit's gonna hurt by the end of the evening. I'm happiest at weddings when my hair is low key and I don't have to check on it all the time.

  31. I say go for the honorable mention, that look is fab!! But if you can't do that then my vote is for #2 mix it up a bit! Your makeup skills are seriously ridiculously amazing. I'm so jealous! Have a great time!

  32. I like number 1 & number 4! And you seriously have mad skilz when it comes to make up. I wish that I could figure out how to get my eye make up to look as good as yours. Even with tutorials I end up looking like shiz. =(
I am sure that regardless of which do you decide on, you will look awesome!

  33. You did a great job with her makeup! So I say you def do smokey eye since you're good at it. As for hairstyle, I like 3. Although you always do half up at least you know you can pull it off. Why mess with perfection?

    ReplyDelete
  34. ok your hair options had me dyihg! you just know what you like and what looks good!

and you always have amazing makeup so i know you will be beautiful!!

    have a great weekend chica!!

  35. I love the Honnorable Mention, However If you are doing one thru four, I would go with #2 Just to be a little different!

    Good luck! Have fun!

  36. I love number 1 however number 2 is also my favorite becasue its the most different from your usual! Love love the middle picture of the eyeshadow!
