I survived back to back wedding weekends

It's Monday!  Who is excited? Not me. Just being honest. Let me know when it's Friday at 5 p.m.

I had a semi-uneventful weekend in comparison to Vegas the weekend before.  Friday night I perused the Internets (aka did some light Facebook stalking) and gave myself my favorite mud mask.  I got a text from my friend telling me to remove this from Facebook.  Aint no shame in my game girl.

Saturday I sold a dress and a few necklaces to Platos Closet.  I made $11 bones and some change, which I immediately blew on Starbucks and Jamba Juice.  I felt a bit scummy doing this, but whatevs.  That's a free breakfast and lunch and I'll take it.

I gave all my make-up brushes a nice bath before I had to start getting ready for my friend Caroline's wedding that evening. Best way to clean brushes is baby shampoo. I've talked about that before here.

These are the 2 love birds who tied the knot.  Meet my college friend, Caroline and her boo, Taylor.
Here she is walking out with her Dad. I love how happy she looks!

And some pictures from the evening:

[FYI - My dress is from H&M and it is a very pale pink with a sheer overlay.]
That's Courtney and I covered in red wine.  I shouldn't be allowed around anyone in light colors when red wine is anywhere in my vicinity.   In my defense, this was all Courtney's fault.  I swear.

After a late Saturday night, I spent almost my entire Sunday doing this:
Could my nephew be any cuter?  The answer is no.

Last but certainly not least, I'm also over at This Won't Hurt a Bit today guest posting as part of Renee's new Monday series called The Music Files.  Go check it out to see what my favorite song is and why!

A stunning Vegas wedding

Welp kiddos, I'm back from Vegas and still trying to catch up on my sleep so my apologies for the delay on the recap.

The wedding was perfection and Kristina was seriously a vision. I had the best time and can't imagine the weekend going any more perfectly.

Her hair was perfection. Her dress was perfection.  Her make-up was perfection.  See for yourself.  I already know y'all are going to die over her dress.

We're working backwards today, so now for the rest of the pictures from the wedding weekend:
First time flying first class.  It was the life.
Did I mention Emmitt Smith (ex Dallas Cowboys player) was sitting directly behind us on the way there? He's on the right. You may recall he also won Dancing With the Stars back in the day.

My rehearsal and wedding shoes. Both from Dillards.

if getting married means all this ... sign me up immediately.

Kristina -
You've been my best friend since 6th grade when we would sneak out of reading class to play with our lip glosses.  I love you and was honored to stand by your side.  I am so thankful and blessed to have you in my life, and I couldn't be happier for you and Joshua!  Start planning our NOLA trip immediately.

Love,
Lindsey Lee aka honey boo boo child

We have come a long way from our matching gap cardi sets.

Hi and Bye! Vegas, I hope you are ready for a bargain blonde.

I'm signing off for the week because at this time tomorrow I'll be in the clouds making my way to Las Vegas.

My childhood bestie Kristina if getting wifed up to this young lad, Joshua:

Aren't they presh?  They met in law school and are now both attorneys in Las Vegas. Yes, I'm bragging.

I've got some partying to do in Sin City, so I've left you in the care of these two ladies while I'm gone:

You may know Beth from Shenanigans of a Southern Redhead (formerly SweetBef's Blog) and Stephanie from BEAUtiful Mess.  If you don't know them, then you will soon get to know these lovies of mine and you'll like it.

I can't promise I'll behave myself and I can't guarantee I won't come home in a wheel chair, but I'm going to try my hardest not to end up in any emergency care centers.  Until we meet again, don't do anything I wouldn't do.   That's not saying much.  XO

Recap of Court's Bach Party in "Nawlins"!

Happy Monday and Happy Turkey Week!

Last week was a little cray cray, so my apologies for just now getting around to recapping Courtney's Bachelorette Party weekend in New Orleans. Hopefully it is worth the wait as New Orleans is full of characters, many of which can be found in photos below.

I really don't think you can go wrong hosting a Bachelorette Party in The Big Easy, especially if you have a mascot who goes by the name of Dr. C to accompany you. He was quite popular the entire weekend.
Bachelorette Decor for the hotel room
Friday we flew into NOLA from Dallas at an ungodly hour.  Like I had to wake up before 5 a.m. to make our flight ungodly.  By the time we got to our hotel and checked into the room it wasn't even 9 a.m.  Oh yes, long day of shenans to be had.

After we spent a few minutes getting dolled up, we took immediately to Bourbon Street to enjoy the day.  One of the first things we spotted was a wedding march.  How sweet is that "just married" couple with their umbrellas?

One of the first bars we ventured into had these "Chugglers", which might have been the best purchase of the weekend if I do say so myself.  You can bong a beer from the comfort of your own cup.

In this same joint some rando man wanted to take a shot, so naturally I volunteered to join him.  Jäger bombs before 11 a.m.?  Only in NOLA, folks.

Next we took back to the street and ended up in Bourbon Street Blues Company where our bachelorette, Courtney, received a couple of G rated lap dances from some nice young lads.  You're welcome.

At this point we realized we probably need to get some food in our bellies if we were going to make it through the first day, so we headed to the French Quarter to sight see before stopping to have a casual lunch at Cafe Pontalra.

After lunch we went to Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop, which was built between 1722 and 1732, and is reputed to be the oldest structure used as a bar in the United States. The Hurricanes and Bloody Mary's were STRONG:

After a drink at the historical and supposedly haunted Lafitte's, we went to "The Swamp" where I spotted this elegant creature next to me at the bar.  My friends were shocked I whipped out my phone to snap her picture, but this was an opportunity I was not going to miss.  #riskworththereward
Rat Tail hair how-to post coming soon!
Courtney rode this ride while at The Swamp, and I seriously have not laughed that hard in a long time.  The guy operating it was such a perv that we all refused to ride it after she got thrown off.

We made a few more stops on Bourbon ...

... before we walked home to change into our matching tees and put wigs on:
If this isn't how you are taking shots ladies, then you've been doing it all wrong.  This delicate flower picked Courtney up in the middle of the bar to feed her a shot from her mouth. Ummm ...

I have no words. Shortly after this shot was had, we had a late dinner at Oceana Grill.  While leaving dinner, I stepped off the curb, which is when the ankle #2 incident happened.  As you can tell, we had a long day and every one was ready to retire for the night so we all got in a cab and went home.

The next day, we put our shirts on again (I mean, it's New Orleans ... never mind we had worn them the night before) ...
and walked (I hobbled) to Cafe Du Monde for their world famous beignets:

When they are served warm, they are worth all the hype. If you ever go to New Orleans, a stop here is a must:
After a light breakfast we had a very casual day sans booze where we walked to the Riverfront mall and gambled a little in Harrah's before a late lunch at Acme Oyster House.
Ew, excuse my awkward smile and haggard look.  I had the crab and corn chowder with fish po boy. #todie
We had late dinner reservations (9:30 p.m.) that night @ Emeril's New Orleans, so we went back to the room to get ready and have Court's lingerie shower.  We all had wine and champagne while she opened gifts before a little game of "pin the macho on the man".
A cup has never been more perfect for me:

Dr. C showed up towards the end of our dinner at Emeril's. There were plenty side-eyes from a few patrons in the restaurant, but the staff loved him.
Come on people, it's New Orleans and a bachelorette party. Get over it.

I highly recommend you get a Dr. C of your own if you are out for a Bachelorette Party on Bourbon Street. Every single person was throwing beads at him and stopping us on the street.  Even this "lady" who gave Courtney a bachelorette whipping:

I think it's best I end on that note.  Love me some New Orleans.  Don't you?
