My favorite summer polish combo

Call me boring, but I basically do 2 things with my nails, which is dictated by seasons.  In the fall and winter I stick to cherry or deep reds, and at the first sign of warmer weather, I switch immediately to light pink pastels on my fingers and fluorescent hot pink on my toes very similar to a combo like so:
OPI "Pink-a-Doodle" and China Glaze "Flip Flop Fantasy"
I once painted my nails what I call "goth" and I hated it.  Goth (in my book) = black or dark purple.  Yes, I know this was "in", but I just couldn't.  I felt like I should be jamming out to the Pandora Marilyn Manson station and applying a fresh coat of black lip liner on my lunch break.  Never again.

Occasionally I'll put a hot pink on my nails (I did a coral shade on Monday), but typically I stick to the pastel/fluorescent pink combo and it makes me very happy. It really is the little things.

In the spirit of my summer polish combo making it's long awaited return, I present to you my splurge and steal polish picks for the 2011 summer season. 

NAILS

    I do the same thing as you - light pink on my nails and hot pink on my toes. My mom always tells me this is a no-no, but I do not care. I like it. :)

    i'm digging it girl! though right now i have toes light pink, nails hot pink!

    the hot pink is avon which was a pretty bargain buy... (though not as good as your ELF)

    however, i must say, im not opposed to goth nails. i actually did little mini skulls on my ring fingers over the winter. they glowed in the dark. freaky deaky. hahaha.

    I love pinks. Literally, reds and hot pinks are my favorite.

    But currently I'm really being drawn to all the bright colors like yellows, greens and blues. I use to think they looked weird but now love them.

    Currently I have a the China Glaze Awaken on both my hands and toes, just because the gunmetal color is what I'm obsessing with. But in a week or so my toes will be back to a bright red and my hands to some kind of a pastel.

    i too wear hot pink on the toes...pretty much year round though.

    as far as my fingers i have numerous colors to choose from and they change often (depending on my level of laziness) yellow, turquoise, dark green, mint green, light pink, dark blue (winter only), garnet (football games only), red, lilac.

    but i'm addicted and can't go back to any other polish. i only use Sally Hansen Insta Dry or Complete Manicure. The brushes are wide and go on so easily. try that stuff and you'll never go back. i have some chanel and essie polish and i hate them both just b/c the brushes are still so small.

    something else about me? I LOOOOVE black polish. did I tell you I dyed my hair black, cause I did. jet. gonna blog about it in a minute. We would be the bomb together. the hot blonde and the goth black haired girl hahaha!!!

    Oooooooo. Pretty pretty pretty! I love these colors. But I don't look very good in pink. I wear a lot of bright reds and corals.

    I love those colors! I'm too pale to pull off hot pink on my toes so I tend to stick with red or something like it... a nice, tamed shade of pink even. My nails are always a toned down color - never loud. My favorite color of all time is this grey/purple color :) I LOVE IT!!

    I can dig it!
    & I am a OPI whore, don't really buy/use anything other polishes, not matter how pretty the color I think it is. My toes, for the last two years have been OPI's No Room For The Blues, my nails I change every week, it depends on what color I like that week/what I am going to wear that week to school.

    Ohhhh you would hate me. I totally sport the deep purples and blacks sometimes. Not right now though. I am wearing teal on my toes and nothing on my nails. I just took off that yellow- so my nails are on break for a day. But I'm sure they'll be a crazy bright color soon :)

    I like the color combo u gave! It suits u and I think it would look good on me too :)

    I love these colors.

    I'm nail polish obsessed and really don't have a certain go-to combo... It's mainly just whatever I'm in the mood for on the day I paint my nails. Literally one week my nails will be a hot pink and the next they'll be green or blue or something ridiculous. I have a serious nail polish problem (and it's very well documented on my blog haha). Oh well!

    I just went for a pedicure a couple of weeks back, and my toe nails are Tangy Tangerine... and I love it! Such a summer color! Not sure I'd do my finger nails orange though...

    I just saw Essie French Affair on sale for 50% off at CVS. I got super excited, and then remembered that it's the same cost for me at the beauty supply. Fail!!
