Sonia Kashuk Satin Luxe Lip Color Review + $100 Target Gift Card giveaway

If there is one thing you know about me, you know I love affordable, great-quality make-up, and more importantly, I love sharing my latest and greatest bargain beauty products with all of you bargainistas. When I recently received the new Sonia Kashuk Satin Luxe Lip Color from Target to test out in Classic Red and Pink Punch for free, I couldn't wait to share with you ladies.

However, if I'm being completely honest, I was slightly terrified thinking about how I was going pull this look off when I saw how vibrant the hues were. I typically stick to light pink glosses because of my fair skin, but I have to tell you, I'm so glad I had the opportunity to test these bold colors because wow, did they make me feel glamorous! If I can pull these colors off, I know they will flatter anyone with any skin shade. Hello red lips...
How playful is this hot pink lip with wavy hair for a fun summer look?
Now, let me dish on the deets.

Maybe you are feeling spicy and want to wear a hot pink or a classic red like me, but maybe you want something more low-key for the office. You're in luck, because the Satin Luxe Lip Color comes in 14 shades and is only $9.99! Ladies, that is a steal and you better believe I'm planning on adding more to my already out-of-control make-up collection. Yes, I am a make-up hoarder, and no, I don't care.

So not only does this lipstick soften and hydrate your lips, it will protect them from the sun with built-in SPF 16. Sun safety helps with anti-aging, and the nourishing ingredients plump up lips for added firmness.

Speaking of ingredients, any of you care to know what you are putting on your lips? This Satin Luxe Lip Color is paraben- and fragrance-free and contains Brown Seaweed Extract to preserve skin elasticity as well as Ceramide 2 and Palmitoyl Peptide to visibly reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Other than the incredibly pigmented color, which you can see in the pictures of me above, the best thing about Sonia’s line of lipsticks is the way they wear. When first applied, they are smooth with a silky glide, but within about an hour they change and behave more like a stain, but with a satin finish. After about 3 hours, I reapplied and my lips looked fantastic.

Oh, oh, oh! I almost forgot. I know this may seem silly, but packaging on products is important to me. I LOVED the new black packaging with its color button to make finding the right tube easier when digging through my stash.

How exciting is this? BlogHer is offering all of my readers an opportunity to enter a sweepstakes to win a $100 Target GiftCard to buy some of Sonia Kashuk Satin Luxe Lip Color for yourself! All you have to do is leave me a comment answering the following question:

  1. I won't pay more than $15 for a tube of lipstick because I easily tire of a color and like to change it up a lot.

  2. I'm thinking no more than $10 normally.

    ReplyDelete
  3. No more than $35--and it better be designer!

    ReplyDelete
  4. That's a very good question. Since I'm not much of a lipstick wearer, I won't pay more than $10 for a tube because frankly, I may only get 1 or 2 uses out of it!

    ReplyDelete
  5. I have paid up to $25 for lipstick, but I'd love to pay $10 for a good tube!

    ReplyDelete
  6. I think up to $20 is ok - especially if it's long-lasting (but not the stain kind). I wear it all day/every day and hate having to re-apply it after just an hour or so.

    ReplyDelete
  7. $25 is my max for lipstick although I usually don't pay more than $12.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I don't think I could pay more than $15 for good lipstick.

    ReplyDelete
  9. The colors look amazing on you!

I am more of a gloss girl, but I do have some lipstick and I don't typically pay more than $10 for it.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I would not pay more than 25$ for a lipstick.

  11. I generally get cheap lipstick because I don't wear it often. I wear a gloss on a daily basis to give some color, shine and moisturize. I generally pay no more than $10 for a tube of gloss or lipstick. If I found the right color of lipstick and it was a good moisturizing, spf one, I'd possibly pay more. Never more than $20.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I usually wear gloss but if it's for something special (wedding, prof family photos) I'd spend only up to $14 for lipstick.

  19. I think $15 is my limit for lipstick, but it has to be one I know I'll wear all the time.

  20. for me, I can't justify more than $10. I don't typically wear a lot of lipstick... I'm more of a lipgloss/chapstick girl. I will spend an unlimited ammt of money on anything else... blush, eyeshadow, mascara, foundation, etc... but lipstick, I just can't justtify!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I don't want to be greedy and enter another one of your giveaways since I just one:) But I have to say....you are legit Lauren Conrad's twin in that first pic. Gorgeous!!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't ever wear lipstick so I would say no more than $8. I usually go straight for my gloss or chapstick. Would love to try some of the lighter shades though.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I would say no more than $15. I currently pay 12 for my MK lip gloss & don't think I could go much higher. The colors look fabulous by the way!

    ReplyDelete
  24. While I think that my typical lipstick is about $15, I think that I'd spend up to $30 if I found the absolute perfect shade. Anything more than that wouldn't be worth it to me.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm not a lipstick wear-er as I haven't really found a formula I like, but I don't think I'd pay more than $10!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I will not spend more than $20 on a single tube of lipstick! Ususally I try for less than $10 but that is a rare find on good stuff!

    ReplyDelete
  27. No more than $30...and that's stretching it! I love variety!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I wouldn't spend more than $20 on a lipstick.

  29. I hate to admit this, but I've never purchased lipstick before! I would probably have to say that I wouldn't spend more than $20 on a tube, and that's if I'm absolutely in love with it. I never know what color to choose. These colors look great on you though!

    ReplyDelete
  30. $25 is my max! I love lipstick, but I change colors so often. I definitely need to stock on quality lipstick!

    ReplyDelete
  31. ha, i won't pay more than $10. and you look incredible with those red lips! love!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I would say no more than $15 per tube!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I wouldn't pay more than $20 for lipstick...this lipstick looks great on you! I also don't branch out on colors because of my fair skin, but it looks great on you! Hope to give it a try!

    ReplyDelete
  34. It's been forever since I actually bought a lipstick! I tend to be more of a gloss kind of girl... But I would probably say $15!

    ReplyDelete
  35. pretty colors! i'm funny about lipstick but i'm also frugal. i believe there are some amazing options at target and the drugstore. but at the same time if i found something i fell in love with i would pay like $25... maybe...

    ReplyDelete
  36. 10 dolla make you holla! lol 10 is probably my max!! I lose stuff too easily to justify more than that!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I would say $16. I'm more of a chapstick girl, but I do occasionally use clinique's lipstick (samples) or estee lauders - both of which I really like.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I wouldn't pay more than $10 on a lipstick. If it were spectacular I guess I would pay up to $20.

    ReplyDelete
  39. To be honest, the $9.99 price tag on these is a little over my usual. I am currently loving Revlon's lip butters, which are about $7.99, but I usually have a $2 off coupon for Target or can find them Buy One Get One 50% off at CVS, Ulta, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I wouldn't pay more than $10 for a lipstick, because I don't wear it often honestly.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I think anything over $15 is a bit pricey for lipstick. I love the Aveda Nourish Mint collection, and those are my max price : $15-$16. :)

BTW- both those colors look FAB on you!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Normally I don't think I'd want to pay $10 especially if I were trying something for the first time but if I loved the shade and the brand had a good reputation, I'd shell out up to $20. Beyond that, no way, I don't wear lipstick enough.

    ReplyDelete
  48. If there is one that I am very happy with, I don't feel like there should be a limit of what to spend on it. I'll use it enough to get my moneys worth.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I would say $25! It is just lipstick...!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I would say no more than $10-15 because I don't wear lipstick hardly ever!

  149. I used to think the $34 price tag on the YSL lipsticks were too high but now I'm considering buying some because of the great reviews and the cute colors. But $34 would be my cut off!!

  150. I probably wouldn't spend more than $10!

  151. I wouldn't spend over $25.
I love that pinky fusia color.

  152. I would say $25 for lipstick bc I am always on the search for the perfect shade..which I will NEVER find :). Great giveaway!

  153. More than $35. $35 is even a little steep for me, but for some YSL or Chanel, it's worth it. :)

  154. I probably wouldnt spend more then $15 on lipstick. I like to change it up to much and its not worth spending more if Im going to change up all the time.

  155. As a stay at home mom, my budget is pretty tight . Soo I stay under $10 so I can sneak it in with my groceries , and the hubs is none the wiser ;)

  158. Well sheesh, I guess the price depends on what brand I'm going to buy. I fork over the cash for MAC at $16 bucks a pop but I've also bought Yves St Lauren and Chanel for over $35. I think you do get what you pay for but I still love some cheap finds too. : )

  159. If I am purchasing a lipstick from a drugstore/superstore, like Target, I would not spend more than 7$. I typically will spend more if is is from a cosmetic company like MAC or Bare Essentials.

    ReplyDelete
  160. I don't like to spend too too much on lipstick unless I've tested it and know I LOVE it. If I haven't tested it I probably won't spend more than $7-$10 on a tube!

    ReplyDelete
  161. It would pay no more that $15 for lipstick!

    ReplyDelete
  162. I don't love lipstick, so I won't pay more than $6 for a tube! If I found something I would love to wear every day, I might would go with $10.

  164. I love MAC lipsticks and I think theirs run around $15? I wouldn't spend more than that, though!

  165. I don't typically spend more than $15 for lipstick- I'll check these out for sure!

    ReplyDelete
  166. $10 would be a splurge for me! I would typically keep it under 5!

    ReplyDelete
  167. Okay, you look gorgeous in both of those colors!!

I try to stick on the affordable side, so I would say I wouldn't spend more than $10 on lipstick. I can't justify spending anything more!

    ReplyDelete
  168. No more than $20, but I typically buy lip gloss more often!

    ReplyDelete
  169. I generally don't like paying more than 10 for a lip color since I don't wear them much. I spend more on the makeup that I get a lot more use out of.

  170. I'm kind of a lipstick junkie - I love it! Hmm, how much is to much.. I wouldn't pay over $40, and if it were close to that it would be because of the fancy packaging!

    ReplyDelete
  171. I would DEFINITELY pay 9.99 for lipstick if it's as good as you say this one is! I just hate, hate, hate that sticky feeling most lipsticks leave on your lips. And I am definitely more of a shiny lipstick type of girl. If it meets all my qualities, I'd may $15-20. But I'm pretty picky about my lipstick!

  172. These are both so cute. I've been looking for a lipstick that lasts. I won't pay more than $10 for lipstick though. Thanks for sharing!

    ReplyDelete
  173. I'm more of a lip gloss girl so I won't pay more than about $8 since I don't wear it enough to make it worth it.

  174. if i absolutely LOVED the lipstick, $20 maximum

  176. Those colors look really good on you. Believe it or not the only time I've worn lipstick is when I was younger playing in my moms make up. I am so fair skinned that I just use a gloss. I wish I could pull those colors off, like you! Since I don't wear lipstick I'm going to sit this giveaway out. I just wanted to tell you how great those colors looked on you. Happy Tuesday!

  177. I say 8 Dollars, although I somehow always get free lipstick, its strange. Someone hands me a tube or gloss from a lancome gift, usually my mom or friend julie, Or I wear a nude MAC color that somehow has lasted me years. I guess I don't wear too much lipstick! I also just got a free one from my wedding make up people, so the free lipstick continues. But, if I had none of these, I'd buy an 8 dollar tube at tarjay.

  178. I'm not a lipstick person at all. I have to use gloss and I don't think I could spend more than $8 on it. Now eyeshadow is a different story...
