Lotion for your limbs and hairspray for your locks

Happy Monday bargainistas!  I hope you all had a fantastical weekend.  I literally took a nap until 6 p.m. yesterday.  Yes, I spent my Sunday as a SLOTH.  I was a hot mess until I finally made myself get up and shower. Oh, and brush my teeth.

Before I showered, I rolled out of bed to go to CVS with a list of lotions to test out.   I wrote down all of your recommendations from this post and took them with me.  You bargainistas did not disappoint, thank you so much for your feedback! You 'da best.

The Cocoa Butter lotion was probably the most recommend, but I did not like how it smelled.  At all.  I smelled all the lotions first before I tested them out.  I also didn't like the Aveeno because it was scentless.  I like a lotion with a light scent to make me feel girly.  I ended up narrowing your recommendations down to the following three:

St. Ives ended up being my favorite, but now I want to go back and get the Vaseline Aloe and Cucumber too.  It was so cooling when I put it on.  Similar to what that mint lotion does.   The Jergen's was really moisturizing but it was a bit more expensive, so naturally I got the St. Ives.  It was a good decision.

At CVS I also picked up this coveted hairspray called Elnett by L'Oreal that was recommended to me by my girl Natalie who said it is the ONLY thing that tames her locks.  It was on sale for $14.99, but it's about $12.99 at Target or Wal-Mart

This hairspray is pretty magical.  I bought the extra strong hold UV filter version, and the best part about it is that you can run your hands through your hair after you use it.   Literally, if you brush through your hair after spraying, it just bounces back. It holds my bangs in place without making them look shellacked and crunchy.

Me loves, so get ya some.

Limbs and locks covered!  And I got to use $4 worth of CVS extra bucks towards my purchase ... cha-ching.

  1. OK, I feel as though I let you down becuaue I did not tell you about the greatest drug store lotion known to man. Olay, quench. Purple bottle. Its the only thing I use. it has a little shimmer sparkle in it. It goes on fabu and it smells amaze. I am ashamed.

Also, I do NOT get the elnett craze. Seriously don't. hahaha my hair dresser friend thinks Im off my rocker for not lusting over it. I don't know?? Maybe I have weird hair.

Well that is a given, my hair is whack.

ANyways... glad you are properly lubed up now.

    Ewww. That was gross.

  2. I'm going to have to try that hair spray! I have a hard time finding something that will tame my hair. It's thick and crazy and seriously has a mind of it's own. I agree with the comment above, Olay Quench is the bomb diggity. Have a great day!

  3. confession- I once used sunblock as lotion for like 2 months straight because i LOVE LOVE LOVED the smell of it. That is until everyone told me I could buy lotion with the exact same smell. BUT HEY at least I was protecting myself from the sun during February

can i also make one more confession? I never use hairspray. Maybe it's because I am not a gorgeous southern belle like ya-self, or because I dont have big hair..but i just don't ever use it! I mean, when I straighten my hair for a day, am I supposed to just spray it in?

sometimes I am such a horrible girl

  5. I have never heard of Elnett. What am I missing? The name (and the look of the bottle) reminds me of something my grandma would use, HOWEVER, if Miss BB herself swears by it, then is must be fantastic. I'm always looking for a hairspray that doesn't make my hair all nasty and sticky!!!

  7. I tried the Elnet, and it didn't work for me. I think I need something a bit stronger to keep my baby fine tresses from blowing all over the place.

Love the St. Ives scrub. Its great as a body scrub too!

  8. why didn't you like the CB smell, huh?

the only lotion i use is the one you gave me for my b-day. :) it hasn't brought any boys to the yard yet...but i'm sure it will one day.

as for hairspray. i barely use it unless i'm curling my hair and then i use tresemme' level 4. works like a charm. as long as it's not humid outside.
