Before I showered, I rolled out of bed to go to CVS with a list of lotions to test out. I wrote down all of your recommendations from this post and took them with me. You bargainistas did not disappoint, thank you so much for your feedback! You 'da best.
The Cocoa Butter lotion was probably the most recommend, but I did not like how it smelled. At all. I smelled all the lotions first before I tested them out. I also didn't like the Aveeno because it was scentless. I like a lotion with a light scent to make me feel girly. I ended up narrowing your recommendations down to the following three:
St. Ives ended up being my favorite, but now I want to go back and get the Vaseline Aloe and Cucumber too. It was so cooling when I put it on. Similar to what that mint lotion does. The Jergen's was really moisturizing but it was a bit more expensive, so naturally I got the St. Ives. It was a good decision.
At CVS I also picked up this coveted hairspray called Elnett by L'Oreal that was recommended to me by my girl Natalie who said it is the ONLY thing that tames her locks. It was on sale for $14.99, but it's about $12.99 at Target or Wal-Mart.
Me loves, so get ya some.
Limbs and locks covered! And I got to use $4 worth of CVS extra bucks towards my purchase ... cha-ching.
OK, I feel as though I let you down becuaue I did not tell you about the greatest drug store lotion known to man. Olay, quench. Purple bottle. Its the only thing I use. it has a little shimmer sparkle in it. It goes on fabu and it smells amaze. I am ashamed.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I do NOT get the elnett craze. Seriously don't. hahaha my hair dresser friend thinks Im off my rocker for not lusting over it. I don't know?? Maybe I have weird hair.
Well that is a given, my hair is whack.
ANyways... glad you are properly lubed up now.
Ewww. That was gross.
I'm going to stop typing now.

I'm going to have to try that hair spray! I have a hard time finding something that will tame my hair. It's thick and crazy and seriously has a mind of it's own. I agree with the comment above, Olay Quench is the bomb diggity. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteconfession- I once used sunblock as lotion for like 2 months straight because i LOVE LOVE LOVED the smell of it. That is until everyone told me I could buy lotion with the exact same smell. BUT HEY at least I was protecting myself from the sun during February
ReplyDeletecan i also make one more confession? I never use hairspray. Maybe it's because I am not a gorgeous southern belle like ya-self, or because I dont have big hair..but i just don't ever use it! I mean, when I straighten my hair for a day, am I supposed to just spray it in?
sometimes I am such a horrible girl
xoxox
:-)
ReplyDeleteI love the vaseline and Jergens ones! I have yet to try the St. Ives, but now I think I might have to :)
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of Elnett. What am I missing? The name (and the look of the bottle) reminds me of something my grandma would use, HOWEVER, if Miss BB herself swears by it, then is must be fantastic. I'm always looking for a hairspray that doesn't make my hair all nasty and sticky!!!
ReplyDeleteThat hairspray sounds amazing! I too hate crunchy bangs. Glad you found something that works!
ReplyDeleteI tried the Elnet, and it didn't work for me. I think I need something a bit stronger to keep my baby fine tresses from blowing all over the place.
ReplyDeleteLove the St. Ives scrub. Its great as a body scrub too!
why didn't you like the CB smell, huh?
ReplyDeletethe only lotion i use is the one you gave me for my b-day. :) it hasn't brought any boys to the yard yet...but i'm sure it will one day.
as for hairspray. i barely use it unless i'm curling my hair and then i use tresemme' level 4. works like a charm. as long as it's not humid outside.
Great finds! The hairspray sounds magical! There's nothing worse than crunchy hair after spraying it!
ReplyDeletedude im so behind in life and blog stuff. i didnt even know you were shopping for lotions (like i have any to recommend anyways). and i hope i can find that hairspray here. i saw my old hairspray here that i used to use in US and it's like over 40 bucks. no thank you!
ReplyDeleteps: totally had no idea i had nipples on my page. not intentional i swear LOL (and i thought initially you were talking about mine because i forgot what i posted since it was scheduled post...so of course i freaked and was relieved it WASNT me!).
hope you had a great weekend girl!
I've always wondered about that l'oreal hairspray. thanks for the rec. i'll definitely pick some up on my next trip.

ReplyDeletei dont use hairspray but if it will make my hair look like yours, I'm sold!!!
ReplyDeletePS-Sloth is my new favorite word. I even called a girl at work a sloth. It's ok, she deserved it ;)
I love your hair. So pretty. I'm a dedicated Bed Head hairspray gal, but I might have to try out Elnett.

i use the olay in PURPLE bottle.. its awesome. but i also love Vaseline too..so its a tough choice out there for lotion lovers. tough tough choice.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to get on the elnett craze but I feel like I just can't get away from the Tresemme. It has been so good to me and I can't bear to cheat on it! Maybe I will get it with the $6 CVS extra bucks I got last week!! Thumbs up for extra bucks!
ReplyDeleteI'm personally a fan of aveda control force. have you tried that one out? like for real reals. they have a video online of 7 different styles you can do with it and its not crunchy. brushable, yknow? but however, I will try this out. just cause you said so. :) (and that st ives!)
