e.l.f. giveaway winner + move update

Let's start this Monday off right!  The 7 piece e.l.f. giveaway winner is ....

Congrats Molly, you cute little thang, you!  E-mail me your address and I will send off your goodies stat.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to book Ryan Reynolds for the date. I hope you understand.

I loved reading all of your entries for the giveaway by the way!  I'd say mascara was the top choice for what you would wear on the date.

No one asked, but I'll tell you any way.  I think I'd have to go with Ryan Gosling (swoon). What a cute couple we'd make, wouldn't you agree?

And if I had to pick 3 items only to wear on our first date, I'd choose eyeliner, mascara and a dark grey eyeshadow color to make a smokey eye.  When he laid eyes on me, we'd fall instantly in love, get married in a lavish ceremony on the beach, have 3 blonde haired, blue eyed babies and I'd never have to work again.  Sigh. This will never happen, but it's fun to pretend.

Now, back to the real world because I have to fill you in on how the move went this weekend.

One word: DISASTER. While there was no grease stained filthy room situation, my movers did show up over 3.5 hours late, one of them referred to himself as "The Beast" and I think some quotes from him will paint the picture best:

"I look good.  Would you believe I'm 30? How many 30 year olds do you know that look as good as this? Tell me I don't look good.  They call me the BEAST!"

... umm ok sir, why don't just you take your beast self and get to work.

"We accept tips, ya know? I take care of you, you take care of me. We gotta get paid.  We don't do this for free."

... Here's a tip "BEAST": Stop talking about tips and you may get one.

"I'm going to be in a fitness video in 2 months.  I'm going to be on the cover of fitness magazines. I'm 30 years old and I'm trying to make it happen.  I mean, look at me.  I weighed 220 three weeks ago and now I'm 190 pure muscle.  I'm all natural baby."

That's when I had to leave the room.  I tried to stay away from the Beast as much as possible.  On top of having to deal the 30-year-old "fitness model", one of the other movers put a HOLE in my brand new wall and a hole in one of my painted canvases.  I've also found shattered picture frames and a shattered vase.  I understand when you move that things are going to break, but putting a hole through my wall is not OK.

I have a ton to do still as far as unpacking and decorating goes, but here are a few pictures I snapped on my phone this weekend. Nothing is hung on the walls yet, but I promise there will be plenty of pics to come as I finish rooms.  The last 2 pics are of my nephew in my new tub.  Who knew jacuzzi jets made bubbles like quadruple?  He was in heaven.

Have a great week!  Come Thursday, I'll be in New Orleans with this pretty lady (you may know her)!!  I'm counting down the days until we reunite again.  Watch out Bourbon St., there is a crazy blonde and ginge coming your way to find the "real us".

  8. When my current roommate moved into my current apartment, she had this reeeeally sketchy guy who kept talking about the knife he had and asking if she or I was scared of him with it. ("uhh, no I wasnt until you pointed that out. Three times") What is with movers?? I don't get it.
I'm sorry about your stuff :( Hopefully unpacking goes a little bit better!

  15. I'd say it sure sounds like you have bad moving luck. Mainly because The Beast does not sound like a cool guy.

I was pretty surprised the first time I saw bubbles like that in a jacuzzi too. I guess it makes sense though. Good luck with settling in! Can't wait to see the finished product. Oh, and I still haven't given up on my dream of marrying Ryan G. :)

  16. Well I'm glad you're all done with the moving. I hope you called that moving company and complained. I would have, that's ridiculous!

By the way, I want a jacuzzi now so I can have that kind of bubble bath. :)

  17. I think the problems and 'the beast' need to be reported to the moving company. Yes, things break but they are suppose to be professionals and not break a ton of stuff!

Adorable place though and your nephew is the cutest in all those bubbles!

  22. Oh my gosh, the Beast? He's watched too much Jersey Shore. I mean, he is NOT the Situation. And horrible about broken items and walls. They need to a) inform you and b) take care of at least the wall.

  23. So sorry about the wall! Is it fix able, can you cover it up? The nephew looks adorable!

& I am gonna say the same thing I said on Beth's post, I can't wait to read/see picture of your trip to Nola...Don't get lost, Don't lose Beth. Kiss as many good looking Nola boys.
