Buh bye 8 years of apartment livin', hello the TOWN HOME life! I didn't buy this place, which works out better for me actually. If you can imagine, I'm not much of a "handy woman" and I certainly don't take kindly to mowing lawns or landscaping. Do you blame me? I prefer spending my time giving myself mud masks and blowing my life savings at the dollar store.
Luckily the HOA takes care of all that anyway and if anything like the garbage disposal goes out, I just call my sweet land lady Poppy and she will send someone right away.
Since I officially put my deposit down last week, I cannot stop perusing Pinterest for decor ideas for the new place. I'm actually moving in with my brother (say a prayer for me please), which means I will have to consult with him in regard to decor in the common areas. Well, we'll see about that.
However, I'm already planning a room make-over, especially because I'll have a bigger room now. Here is a picture of the model of what will be the Bargain Blonde's new lair. I kinda die.
See where that fake tree, dresser and chair is? I want to make that a vanity area. I get giddy just thinking about it. How gorgeous would something like one of these set-ups be? Imagine all the magical e.l.f. application that could go on there ...

And more importantly, where does a girl find affordable furniture other than Ikea? I love Ikea, but the dressers I got from there are falling apart after 2 moves under their belt.
Just a little sneak peak into the new pad. You better believe there are going to be more townhome decor posts where this came from. I can't wait to show y'all the entire place. Momma's moving!
What happened to the vlog?! I watched it in google reader, came to comment, and it said the page couldn't be found.
ReplyDeletePS Love the new town house, congrats!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Omg I am SO excited! Can't wait to come visit, what room do I get? shizuut, I wanna bunk in the same bed as you.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the pics! I bought a townhome before I married the hubs and I looooooooved it. I also do not like to mow lawns or trim the bush (heehee) so townhome/condo living worked out perfect for. You know what? I think I may even do a post about my old condo cause I miss it so....inspired by YOU of course.
LOVE it Leslie!
I have been looking everywhere for a vanity. I love them! anyway we get a lot of stuff at antique fairs and thrift stores, and then repaint it. anthropologie has super cute knobs you can switch out. oh and there is a website that shows you how to spruce up your IKEA furniture. could be fun!
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you Lindsey Lou! I am a total book worm, so my priority would be a comfy club chair and side table/seating area to cozy up with a great book. I've found some great furniture at Hobby Lobby and Home Goods/Marshalls type places. Can't wait to see all the fabulousness :)
ReplyDelete-Tay Tay
GIRL...buy an old wooden dresser from a garage sale and spray paint that biyatch!
ReplyDeleteLinds,
ReplyDeleteI'm mildly confused as to why NONE of those pictures included any BSB posters? hrmmmphhh. Some fan you are :)
PS- my fave 2 places to find cheapie furniture to fill space: 1) homegoods 2) Marshalls 3) Overstock.com (I bet yall have a warehouse in TX somewhere & you can go browse!)
meeow
Thou shalt not envy, thou shalt not envy, thou shalt not envy..... yeah this is what I keep saying to myself over and over right now!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you! I love our little condo, but a town home would be perfect!
Go to garage sales or post a few adds on craigslist what you are looking for-then repaint and put cool knobs on from Anthopologie! So cheap and so cute.
Congrats!
Congrats on the new place!! LOVE IT!! I have bought tons of furniture on Craigslist, Yard Sales and estate sales....for real! I like an eclectic mix....and nothing too matchy, matchy. Omg, you are gonna' have so much fun decorating your new place!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new place!! It looks great!!
ReplyDeleteWow, it is seriously the cutest ever!! Congrats girl!!
ReplyDeletei love how your land lady is named poppy. makes me think of my friends cat... HAHA. I love all those decor ideas. I especially loooove that last little desk that was green with the shutters behind, too cute
ReplyDeleteI love it? So when are you having all of us over?! You did say you'll have some more space...
ReplyDeleteHaha
OMG! I am in love!! i cant wait to see it all decked out BB style!
ReplyDeletei have always wanted a vanity area...like..its insane. I am sick of sitting on the floor in front of a mirror (college times hello?!) hahah
i think you and your brother will have a fun time living together! Is he the one with your nephew?! or is he from another sibling?!
eeeee im so excited for yooou! :-D
xoxo
Home Goods... or yard sales/ salvation army/ goodwill? or sometimes you can find some good things at big lots or even target :)
ReplyDeletelooove your new place and love your ideas :)
Oh girlfriend, I can just imagine you rolling up in style. All day err day. It is BEAUTIFUL && I know you'll make it beautiful on the interior.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm glad that you're moving in with your bro because he will keep you safe.
In terms of what to do with the extra space? Maybe a chaise lounge and sitting area for reading, relaxing, talking on the phone? Or a desk area where you can blog your life away.
In terms of furniture...maybe check out estate sales which generally have very high quality furniture that they are just trying to get rid of. Then you can paint it and make it perfect!
Love the new place! And love your inspiration, I've been watching The City and some of your tear sheets are so Whitney Port.
ReplyDeleteAffordable furniture...craigslist, and estate sales!
Good luck
How exciting! It looks so cute!
ReplyDeleteyou should move me in with that extra space! i wont bring much, just me and the pup. (just kiddinggggg)
ReplyDeletei LOVE this place and i totally understand you with the "rent" not own. when people my age who own tell me they had to spend 5,000 bucks on windows im like NO THANKS...sucks to be you.
i know alot of people that go to flea markets and find furniture and paint it and remodel it a bit. it seems to be a really cool way to mix the old with the new and give it your own updated look. either way, you're loads more creative than i am so im sure you'll do well with the space!!!
How effin' cute!
ReplyDeleteIts yellow, YELLOW!
On my way to school, I pass this super adorable house, its yellow, & has bright red door. I wanna live there. The room is huge. I can't wait to see what you do with it. A vanity would be so cute. I can't do my makeup in my room, I go super bronzer crazy, my carpet( & mommy) would hate that. All four photo ideas are cute, but love the 1st one. Pink & black, my favorite colors. & the mirror, too cute.
& what the hell our HOA doesn't do that. Is that only for condo living? I don't even know what our HOA does. I would hit up Ross. They have the cutest ottomans. & sets of trunks. I don't know why you would use a trunk, but I totally wanna get them for my room.
& the Sally Hansen stuff, I don't know what to call it...Its not tanner, since it washes off right away...You know what, its like foundation for your legs. That's the best way I can describe it. I should have said that in the post.
Saw the video on Beth's page. Your freakin' adorable! Bradly Cooper, hells yes! Football wife, HELL YEAH! & you guys said my name perfectly, loved that!
xo SARMIN
I love your new digs!
ReplyDeleteI would make that extra area into a cozy reading nook, but I'm a book worm!
Sooooooo exciting! I would definitely put a vanity in that extra space and of course fill it with e.l.f. products...to which I am now ADDICTED to and it's 100% your fault. I can't get enough of the stuff.
ReplyDeleteLoving the new space and can't wait to see what you do with it!
ReplyDeleteI got a dresser I love (six drawers, three on each side) from St. Vincent de Paul, my favorite local thrift store. It was $20 and my mom and I refinished it and got new hardware and I love it! It's painted white and has purple drawer pulls now. The whole thing was under $100 and it's solid wood. It'll last for my whole life. Now, I know sanding and painting are not the most fun, but it was so worth it. If you do change out hardware, I recommend bringing in the old handles to the store so you can compare sizes. That way you can avoid drilling new holes.
ReplyDeleteLove love love the vanity area idea!
ReplyDeleteI am kinda jealous because I am now outnumbered in my house (a son and a husband), so I can't really have everything pink!
For furniture, I suggest going to Canton. Seriously - call me and I will meet you there! They really have the best stuff and it's really inexpensive. I also like the other readers' suggestions of garage sale finds.
Your townhome is absolutely gorgeous! I like the idea of an HOA doing everything because I despise yardwork.
Congrats on the new place! Looks awesome! Moving in with your brother huh? Do the two of you get along well?
ReplyDeleteAs far as vanity areas are concerned... i found this one at Bed, Bath & Beyond... not super expensive... it's very nice and pretty sturdy (i have it in white, my cousin got it in black)
