I've officially seen it all

Public Relations (PR) pitches arrive in my blog inbox on the reg and nine times out of 10, the pitch will get deleted almost immediately based on its blatant irrelevance to my blog and its readership.  (i.e. organic bedding (Sorry, but I don't care), motorcycle boots and gear (What about my blog screams that I spend my free time straddling a "hog" with men in leather chaps who sport braided ponytails?) and plus-sized clothing (FML for real).

These days not much shocks me, but when this obscure product arrived in my inbox yesterday ...

I thought this was some extra special foolery. If you're like a few others who I sent a picture of the above "device" to, you thought it was either:

a) A futuristic maxi pad (Erica),
b) a water balloon launcher, but a nice one. One only Richie Rich would own because it's gold. (Carol),
c) a jock strap (Allie),
d) a chastity belt (Raven's Rob) or
3) some new-age sex apparatus (me).

Welp, we were all wrong.  What you're looking at is a "a chest pillow to help women eliminate and prevent chest wrinkles while they sleep". The e-mail subject of said PR pitch was and I quote:

"Eliminate Chest Wrinkles Just in Time for Those Low Cut, Valentine's Day Dresses"

I'm sorry, but what the eff are chest wrinkles? And why do I need to eliminate them?
"I like how they add a bow to it to class it up" - Beth
I mean, what is your husband or boyfriend going to do when you crawl into bed and strap that thing on?  He's going to look at you like you've lost your damn mind is what he's going to do.

In all honesty, I do think this thing could provide some relief to women who are breast feeding or just had "enhancements", but I have never, ever once even thought about "chest wrinkles".  Furthermore, if you do have serious chest wrinkles, you are probably at an age where you don't need to have your coconuts out and about for all to see.

I am sure this is not the post Intimia had in mind when they contacted me, but any publicity is good publicity, right?

Can someone explain to me why I just ordered one of these?

It's Monday and I'm just rambling

Um. Are we aware we're already halfway through the first month of 2012?  Excuse?  I could have sworn I was just counting down to the New Year.

I've been majorly slacking on the blog front. Only six posts in twenty twelve so far, which is not OK. I said I'd be rocking your bloggy socks off last week, but then this little guy arrived and life got a smidge busier.

Oh hay, Bear, hay!  You're cute and all, but you are a lot of work.  At least babies wear diapers and don't use my hardwood floors as a toilet.  Can I get a refund??  Jusssst kidding.  I do love him, I'm just used to cats who are independent bishes who do everything on their own.

Friday night we went to dinner for my friend Kathryn's birthday and then we went to the Granada Theater to see Charlie Robison play.

I don't know if everyone knows this song, but I know my Texas girls do:

This is typical Kathryn.  Here she is using a hand dryer in the bathroom to try to dry her pants after spilling beer on them.

If you tweet the theater, it shows up on their big screen.  Cool, huh?

On Saturday I got to see my friend Megan's baby again when she stopped by to see my new house.  How cute is the wine bottle she brought me?

Her little guy, Ben, is even cuter. Babies are my fave.

Saturday night I celebrated another friends birthday, so it was a birthday filled weekend. Yesterday I took it easy and got my car detailed, went to the grocery store, CVS and Bath and Body Works.

All right, I'm even boring myself with this post.  I'll be back tomorrow with something good and entertaining for y'all to read.  TGIM ... not.

Fight for life Friday. Please help support a friend.

Hello loves.  Today is a special post because I'm asking for your support.

My friend Chuck Young was recently diagnosed with non hodgkin's lymphoma (click
here to learn more about Lymphoma) in October.  His family (also dear friends of mine) have organized a 5K as a fundraising event for LiveStrong in Chuck's name.

I would really appreciate if any runners (or walkers) in the Dallas area would considering participating in this 5K.  Details are below:

Guess who designed this foxy poster??

Not only would you be supporting an amazing cause, but we could meet IRL!

If you'd like to register for the race, please go to the race's OneStopRace page.

Mommy's (or daddy's) with strollers are welcome.  Please let me know if you have any questions and I'd be happy to answer.

Visit his Facebook page for more information!

A Co-ed Wedding Shower

I attended the cutest couples shower Saturday and it was like Pinterest came to life.  Y'all are going to die because the deets were just beyond.  I wish I could say this party was my masterpiece, but I'd be big fat liar and I don't want my nose to grow.  In truth, it was hosted by Courtney's fabulous step-sister, Kelly.

The shower was for these two love birds, Courtney and Tanner.
You've seen some festivities on this here blog surrounding their wedding here (engagement) and here (bridal shower) and here (Bachelorette party).  Would you believe the big day is finally here?  I can't.  They get married NEXT Saturday.  Yowza.

The friendsies:

The yummies:

The deets:

Glamour in a shot.
And a co-ed shower wouldn't be complete without a fun little game of who knows who better:
What he noticed first about Courtney
I may or may not have gone on a tour of Kelly's house and I stumbled upon her kid's reading room.  Why yes, this is what Reese's "reading room" looks like too:

Her house was even Pinterest in real life.  I may have to give you a proper tour of her house in an upcoming post because yes, I took pictures of it all (with her permission of course).  I'm not THAT big of a creeper.
