Review: e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation and All Over Color Stick

It's been a while, but I'm happy to report that as a result of my latest Target trip, I have two new e.l.f. products to dish on: The e.l.f. Studio Flawless Finish Foundation ($6) and Essential All Over Color Stick ($1).

I wasn't sure what to expect because foundation is something you definitely don't want to skimp on in my opinion.  I mean, no one likes the girl with the orange jaw line, right? Plus, I already have a favorite foundation living happily in my make-up bag, (L'oreal Infallible) so why fix what isn't broken?  Well, for only $6, I just couldn't resist the urge to at least try it out.

Here are my thoughts ...

The packaging was pretty & I love a pump dispenser. Check and check.
Since I'm so pasty that I could easily be mistaken for Powder, I purchased the lightest shade: Porcelain.

The coverage is medium to full, which is my preference when it comes to foundation coverage:
Product shown on my hand.

And here is how my face looks with the foundation
(no PhotoShop or editing of any kind).  Everything about this foundation reminds me of my fave foundation, but is half the price.  I'm sold.

Oh, what is that rosy hue on my cheeks you ask?  Why, it's the "All Over Color Stick" in the shade Pink Lemonade.

Product:

Here is a swatch of the product not blended and blended (using my fingers):

A little goes a LONG way with this color stick, which can be used to highlight your cheeks, brow bones and lips.  Personally I wouldn't put this particular color on my eyes, but that's me.  I've used it on my cheeks and lips and love the color.  Another tip - do not apply the stick directly to your skin. Use a light touch and a finger to apply and blend.

There you have it friends.  Two more slam dunks from e.l.f.  If you've tried these particular products, what did you think?  If not, will you try them?  Leave your thoughts in the comments.

p.s. Right now e.l.f. has a promo for $10 of a $30 online purchase using the code "TAXREFUND" by 4/16.

  3. Thats awesome that there is a great product for an affordable price! I recently got the bare minerals set so I will be using that until it runs out but its nice to know there are some good options out there! I have gotten the elf brushes and eye shadow before but was always leery of the bronzer, blush and nail polishes....will have to rethink this the next time I'm in the states!

  9. Miss Linds ... Can you recommend a good inexpensive tinted moisturizer? I'm not a big fan of the e.l.f. one. I, too, am Powder-like

  17. I love love love e.l.f.!!! I have a huge bag of products coming to me in the mail right now! I will have to try the foundation! I was skeptical just like you but I will have to take your word on it and try it out. Who can beat the low prices of e.l.f. makeup? Thanks for the review!

  18. I looove the cover stick! You are definitely right that a little goes a long way. Almost looked like a clown the first time I put it on. I can't decide if I like it better as a lip gloss or a cheek color. decisions, decisions!

  22. Thanks for the review - I've been hating my foundation lately and thinking of trying something new. I find that mine isn't longwear, and by that I mean in a few hours it looks like I have nothing on! HOW does that happen? Do you put a powder on your foundation to "hold" it?

  24. I just find ELF to be hit or miss for me! I adore their cream liner but I have LOATHED quite a few of their other things. I even returned them... lol, I know... cheap skate over here. I am a foundation junkie (I have about 7 rotating in my drawer currently) so maybe I'll have to give that one a try!!
