Excuse? What is it with Target? I've decided there must be a "Target Curse" because this happens to my checking account every. single. time. I know I'm not the only one. Maybe I should just ban myself from going there. Hahahahaha ... yah right. You know, it's times like these I'm glad I don't have a husband who monitors my spending. I'd be in T-R-O-U-B-L-E.
I had the best of intentions. I was going to run in, get my face wash and go home. As usual, the Target Curse got the best of me. Next thing you know I'm rummaging through the Dollar Spot, perusing the beauty rows, stopping by the doggy aisle (a new stop for me), picking out Easter candy for my nephew, checking out the home decor and I knew it would be a bad idea, but can you really go to Target and not take a peek at the clothes?
I found so many cute dresses and tops, but I resisted purchasing any clothing items since my cart was already full of $130 worth of who knows what. That's not to say I don't want to go back and scoop some stuff up. Specifically, all of these flirty Spring combos, which are less than $75 each:
Speaking of outfits. May I direct attention to this little Bargain Blonde adorned in what looks like a puff paint t-shirt, white ruffle socks and pink Keds? God bless the fashion of the 90s. We've come a long way kiddos.
Everyone have a Happy Passover or a Happy Good Friday/Easter! May you resist this Target Curse this weekend.
I went to Target Tuesday for Easter prizes! Came out $179 lighter!! Yikes!! Oh yeah it's your turn on DrawSomthing!!
ReplyDeleteughh the target curse gets me everytime. Just went there the other night. its ridic.
ReplyDeleteTarget gets me every time...it's I think "normal". LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
YES!!! What the eff is up with Target I swear! And I DO have a hubby who monitors my spending and its terrible, never get married - hehe kidding ;) I love outfit #3, would be perfect for Easter Sunday church with a cardigan and just to flirt about town.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is the story of my life when it comes to Target. I think you should definitely purchase at LEAST two of those outfits - I mean, you need some outfits for Charleston afterall and those would be perfect!
ReplyDeletethat bunny is holding you tight.
ReplyDeleteso presh.
and target does that to me as well. duh! but it has happened where i only get the stuff i came for. that was like twice in my life.
Don't I know it? Target is the devil, straight up! You should get that EEBA app, totally helps maintain control over one's budget. I just posted about it just now. :)
ReplyDeleteHappens to me every time! I went in for face wash on tuesday and ended up spending about $75! I was so eyeing the 2nd dress to the right! I must have it
ReplyDeleteIt's true for everyone who enters Target, I feel sure. I come up with a ridiculous amount of stuff I "need" when I enter that godforsaken store. The only plus side to being on crutches is that I no longer have any desire to walk around leisurely through any store, which may be good for my bank account in the long run.
ReplyDeleteEvery. Single. Time. I have never, in my entire memory, left under $100. Ever.
ReplyDeleteSince our Target is a Super Target and I go there for groceries, I've actually been really good about not going and getting random things anymore! (Although I DO have to have a list when I go in, or lots of cookies, cakes, and breads will be added.) I'm trying to not let myself go into the home decor section at all because our house is in SERIOUS need of some improvement.
ReplyDeleteTarget wins again! I even catch myself cruising around the food area just to prolong the experience! haha
ReplyDeleteYes! What is with Target? In fact yesterday was the first time ever I have left without spending over $100! though I JUST went in for two Easter goodies and somehow spent $85 and came out with shoes, a hat, cookies, and a new bottle warmer for the baby...ack! My hubby never lets me go there with his card in my purse :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha ... love it! There seriously is some kind of force shield the envelopes your wallet in that place and won't let you leave unless you spend at least $75. Happens to me every. single. time.
ReplyDeleteYou are exactly right! I love target! I was just there today in fact. All of those outfits are super cute! Another trap that gets me is the swimwear... a whole other story! haha

Target gets the best of me every time! I actually have to go there tonight and am actually dreading it because I'll be doing the same thing as you did....perusing down the aisles when I only need to go get light bulbs. Maybe I should let the hubs go instead. Have a Happy Easter weekend!

I feel like this is true for both Target and Ulta. Both get me every time.
ReplyDeleteI heart Target. That is all.
ReplyDeleteTarget gets me every time...who am I kidding?! I'm a serial shopper. Every store gets me. I always say it's the biggest benefit of being single "It's my money. I do what I want" lol
ReplyDeleteThere is totally a target curse!!!! Happens to me every single time!! Loveeee the Easter pic too cute!
ReplyDeleteXx kelly
Target happened to me too! I went in there last night for soda and came out spending $70. If I get out under $100 I am happy. By Target is amazing!
ReplyDeleteHappens to me everytime I go into Target. Damn them. My husband told me amidst conversation one day that I could quit my job when Target goes out of business. pshh..
ReplyDeletei'm going there today. i'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteJust think of it as your personal Easter basket...that red Target shopping cart, that is ;) Target is heaven but is also the devil. Ruins my $$$ every time. SIGH.
ReplyDeleteGirl! This is so me... In fact, my husband challenged me to not go to Target at ALL this month... I stocked up on things I thought I would run out of in the middle of the month so that I wouldn't break! I can't WAIT till May gets here... This is serious.
ReplyDeleteAnywho. I LOVE all those outfits! So cute! Happy Easter!
XO Lucy
I posted about the EXACT SAME THING a few months back on my blog. Every time I go for diapers or baby formula, I walk out with new shoes, new clothes, makeup I don't need, home decor I have no room for...and a lot less moola in my wallet.

You aren't the only one. I suffer from the same curse but it isn't really a curse becausE I get really cute things. I saw those dresses this week too. Darn cute dresses :-)
ReplyDeleteI brought that first white one with me to Hawaii but never wore it. I wore it a lot when I was in the Caribbean though. love Target.
ReplyDeleteTarget is the devil and yet my favorite place all at the same time. I always go there for one thing and walk out with 10!
ReplyDeleteI have the SAME problem with Target - I can't leave the store without spending atleast $50. And, now that I see 4 amazing little Target outfits...I'm going to go BROKE buying them!
ReplyDeleteI have the SAME problem with Target - I can't leave the store without spending atleast $50. And, now that I see 4 amazing little Target outfits...I'm going to go BROKE buying them!
ReplyDeleteI don't know many who DON'T have this problem....ahhh it's terrible. I saw those first pair of shoes and if I didn't have a similar pair already they would be mine. SO so so cute.
ReplyDeletehaha totally know what you mean! this happens to me EVERYTIME I step into Target. You are not alone lol :)
ReplyDeleteI had a shirt almost exactly like that! Oh and of course the shoes and socks to match!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog - love ittt!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, Target takes my money ALL the time. I did just sign-up for their Debit Card program though. It's not a credit card, so you can't get yourself in trouble there. It's linked directly to your checking out and you still save 5% on your entire total. If you shop there as much as I do it's worth it. :)
I has this white one!! AND now I can wear it!! wooo hooo!
ReplyDeleteI did exactly this last night. I went in to get a few groceries for the week.
ReplyDeleteI came out with work pants, 2 essie nail polishes, maybelline eye shadow, & 2 ELF products... oh and a few groceries!
haha I have this same problem! So glad I am not the only one! One thing I noticed if I have a list and I am on the phone I will not wander around looking to buy things!
ReplyDeleteonly in the 100s at target? i dont think my bills were ever that low LOL! the house goods aisles got me every time!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this post, it makes me feel better about all of my Target experiences. I can't recall a time I have gone to Target and not spent less than $100. Target is a blessing and a curse!
ReplyDeleteThis happens to me every time I go. I tried on the floral dress, but didn't like it.
ReplyDeleteThis is the story of my life - it's particularly horrible when I go to Marshall's. Although I think I'm about to go bananas all over Targey's Shabby Chic line...
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH. How did I just now find your blog?
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT! Target gets me every time. The shoes. The swimsuits. Even the stupid candy is better at Target!
