Hi! I miss y'all. We're down to the single digits until my family comes to Vegas. In preparation for their arrival, I've added a little Christmas cheer to my humble abode. Like I mentioned in my last post, (which was oh, I dunno ... about 10 years ago), I was looking forward to getting my Christmas tree. It still excites me to come home everyday after work, plug it in and just stare at from my couch. My life truly is
that exciting.
Let it be known I got this tree at Home Depot, drove home without it rolling off the hood of my car, got it off the top of my car, put it in a tree stand and drug it into my apartment ALL BY MY LONELY. Let me tell you, it was not easy and I don't recommend doing it yourself, but it can be done. Single girl probs.

OK, so the kind gent at Home Depot helped me tie it to the top of my car, but once I drove out of the parking lot I was all on my own. |

I get an ornament every year from my Mamma bear and this is 2012 from Paula Deen's restaurant in Savannah, GA |
So my tree stood nicely in one corner of my living room until last week when I got the bright idea to buy a new chair for my living room so I had to find a new spot for my tree. I moved it twice before it ended up in this spot:

Dragging a tree across your living room is surprisingly easier than I thought. |
I don't have a fireplace, so I got this stocking hanger from
Kirkland's on sale. Pretty nifty, huh? Did I just really use the word nifty?
|
Since I moved my tree, this has found a new home as well. |

And last but not least, we have Santa at the top of my stairs:

Ho, Ho, Ho |
That about sums up the Christmas cheer in my abode. Now, my Christmas shopping? I literally have not bought one present yet. Hopefully I can get most of my shopping done this weekend. Wish me luck because I need it. I do this to myself every year. I'll never learn.
Your tree looks great!
ReplyDeletefirst, I did a happy dance when I saw you had a new post.
ReplyDeletesecond, good for you on putting up your tree by yo'self. Impressive.
thirdly, your tree looks beautamous and I love your decor.
4thly- i have done zilch shopping. and I don't care. my ankle is broken and maybe tiny tim isn't giving out gifts this year!
Love your decorations! :)
ReplyDeletelove how the tree and tablescape all tie in together with the gold sheer ribbon/ fabric!
ReplyDeleteLove the decorations! Can't believe you got the tree to your apartment & moved it multiple times all on your own! Go girl! & You're not alone on the shopping deal... I only have 2 gifts that were purchased the day after Thanksgiving. Shopping will be in full swing this weekend!
ReplyDeleteloved seeing you in my blogroll today!!!
ReplyDeleteAww! I love your stocking holder. I've never seen one like that!

Looks great Lindsey! Love seeing your face on my blog reader :) I can't wait to see what you get Reesey for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so good! :) And I can just picture you dragging that tree into your apartment, and then dragging it across the living room floor. :) Love it!
ReplyDeleteSeriously go you for doing that on your own! I would never attempt it. lol
ReplyDeleteYour tree looks awesome!! How the heck did you get it in the stand and screwed in all by yourself?? You're wonder woman for sure! Love the Paula Deen ornament too!
ReplyDeleteThats impressive! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong at all with wanting to do nothing but sit on your couch and stare at your tree. That's my life these days and I love it.
ReplyDeleteI've had help the past two years w/the tree, but before that, I did it by myself, too. :) Be proud!
Can't wait for your fam to arrive. I know you're psyched!
WOW. seriously, your decorations are awesome! I love your stocking hanger1
ReplyDeleteCute tree! I love your decorations :D
ReplyDeleteyou're like a real life adult with a real life tree!! i'm a semi adult today with a skinny fake tree. however i put 900 pounds of ornaments on it so i think that brings me closer to the verge of "real adult"
ReplyDeleteGood job for a single gal. ;) Kidding. But seriously, the tree and decorations all look great!
ReplyDeleteGood for you for doing all of that! I take the lazy route and do the artificial tree, so I only have to drag it out of the closet. It's convenient, but it looks nowhere near as pretty as yours does! Love it! And that stocking holder is amazing! I wish we had a Kirkland's near me!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you did that all on your own! I am LAZY with a Capital Z and we get an artificial tree each year. Also good because I am lazy (again) about taking my decorations down and I don't want to burn the house up with a dead Christmas tree getting fried by my lights. I really like your tablescape. I need to do something with mine....it's just a poinsettia and some salt and pepper shakers.
ReplyDeleteLast year I may have ended up in tears trying to get my tree to my living room. I finally laid among the pine needles strewn around me and wept into my Coors Light that I would have a bf to do this for me next year. Yeah, THAT happened. May I recommend a timer outlet? It is the bomb diggity when my tree comes on all by herself before I get home.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous tree!
ReplyDeleteI really love that stocking holder! How cute! And I'm the same way about waiting ... this year, I even decorated several days before Thanksgiving, and stillllll waited until the end of forever to deal with gifts. :/ I think I must thrive off of the pressure or something. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI had been wondering how a single girl gets a Christmas tree into her apartment. Thanks for proving that it's doable. Now that I'm on my own, I've amazed myself already with some of the single girl probs I've had and how I've dominated them.
ReplyDeleteYour house looks great! You picked out one heck of a tree, that's for sure! Oh, and the only Christmas shopping I've done thus far is for my niece. I'm always a last minute shopper :)
come back toooo texasssssssssss
