If there is one thing you know about me, you know I love affordable, great-quality make-up, and more importantly, I love sharing my latest and greatest bargain beauty products with all of you bargainistas. When I recently received the new Sonia Kashuk Satin Luxe Lip Color from Target to test out in Classic Red and Pink Punch for free, I couldn't wait to share with you ladies.
However, if I'm being completely honest, I was slightly terrified thinking about how I was going pull this look off when I saw how vibrant the hues were. I typically stick to light pink glosses because of my fair skin, but I have to tell you, I'm so glad I had the opportunity to test these bold colors because wow, did they make me feel glamorous! If I can pull these colors off, I know they will flatter anyone with any skin shade. Hello red lips...
Now, let me dish on the deets.
Maybe you are feeling spicy and want to wear a hot pink or a classic red like me, but maybe you want something more low-key for the office. You're in luck, because the Satin Luxe Lip Color comes in 14 shades and is only $9.99! Ladies, that is a steal and you better believe I'm planning on adding more to my already out-of-control make-up collection. Yes, I am a make-up hoarder, and no, I don't care.
So not only does this lipstick soften and hydrate your lips, it will protect them from the sun with built-in SPF 16. Sun safety helps with anti-aging, and the nourishing ingredients plump up lips for added firmness.
Speaking of ingredients, any of you care to know what you are putting on your lips? This Satin Luxe Lip Color is paraben- and fragrance-free and contains Brown Seaweed Extract to preserve skin elasticity as well as Ceramide 2 and Palmitoyl Peptide to visibly reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
Other than the incredibly pigmented color, which you can see in the pictures of me above, the best thing about Sonia’s line of lipsticks is the way they wear. When first applied, they are smooth with a silky glide, but within about an hour they change and behave more like a stain, but with a satin finish. After about 3 hours, I reapplied and my lips looked fantastic.
Oh, oh, oh! I almost forgot. I know this may seem silly, but packaging on products is important to me. I LOVED the new black packaging with its color button to make finding the right tube easier when digging through my stash.

I won't pay more than $15 for a tube of lipstick because I easily tire of a color and like to change it up a lot.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking no more than $10 normally.
ReplyDeleteNo more than $35--and it better be designer!
ReplyDeleteThat's a very good question. Since I'm not much of a lipstick wearer, I won't pay more than $10 for a tube because frankly, I may only get 1 or 2 uses out of it!
ReplyDeleteI have paid up to $25 for lipstick, but I'd love to pay $10 for a good tube!
ReplyDeleteI think up to $20 is ok - especially if it's long-lasting (but not the stain kind). I wear it all day/every day and hate having to re-apply it after just an hour or so.
ReplyDelete$25 is my max for lipstick although I usually don't pay more than $12.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could pay more than $15 for good lipstick.
ReplyDeleteThe colors look amazing on you!
ReplyDeleteI am more of a gloss girl, but I do have some lipstick and I don't typically pay more than $10 for it.
No more than $20
ReplyDeleteI would not pay more than 25$ for a lipstick.
ReplyDeleteI generally get cheap lipstick because I don't wear it often. I wear a gloss on a daily basis to give some color, shine and moisturize. I generally pay no more than $10 for a tube of gloss or lipstick. If I found the right color of lipstick and it was a good moisturizing, spf one, I'd possibly pay more. Never more than $20.
ReplyDeleteI usually wear gloss but if it's for something special (wedding, prof family photos) I'd spend only up to $14 for lipstick.
ReplyDeleteI think $10 is my limit!
ReplyDeleteI usually don't wear lipstick, but I wouldn't pay more than $10 for it.
ReplyDeleteI tweeted about it as well!

I usually don't spend more than 15 for lipstick:)
ReplyDeleteI probably have never paid more than $12 for lipstick as I get tired of the color after awhile and need to change things up a bit! Love these colors you shared!!

$10 would be my limit as I never wear it more than a handful of times
ReplyDelete$10
ReplyDeleteI can never find a color I love!
I think $15 is my limit for lipstick, but it has to be one I know I'll wear all the time.

for me, I can't justify more than $10. I don't typically wear a lot of lipstick... I'm more of a lipgloss/chapstick girl. I will spend an unlimited ammt of money on anything else... blush, eyeshadow, mascara, foundation, etc... but lipstick, I just can't justtify!
ReplyDeleteI'd say no more than $25 ish!
ReplyDeleteI don't want to be greedy and enter another one of your giveaways since I just one:) But I have to say....you are legit Lauren Conrad's twin in that first pic. Gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't ever wear lipstick so I would say no more than $8. I usually go straight for my gloss or chapstick. Would love to try some of the lighter shades though.
ReplyDeleteI would say no more than $15. I currently pay 12 for my MK lip gloss & don't think I could go much higher. The colors look fabulous by the way!
ReplyDeleteWhile I think that my typical lipstick is about $15, I think that I'd spend up to $30 if I found the absolute perfect shade. Anything more than that wouldn't be worth it to me.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a lipstick wear-er as I haven't really found a formula I like, but I don't think I'd pay more than $10!
ReplyDeleteI will not spend more than $20 on a single tube of lipstick! Ususally I try for less than $10 but that is a rare find on good stuff!
ReplyDeleteNo more than $30...and that's stretching it! I love variety!
ReplyDeletei will not spend more than $15
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't spend more than $20 on a lipstick.
ReplyDeleteI hate to admit this, but I've never purchased lipstick before! I would probably have to say that I wouldn't spend more than $20 on a tube, and that's if I'm absolutely in love with it. I never know what color to choose. These colors look great on you though!
ReplyDelete$25 is my max! I love lipstick, but I change colors so often. I definitely need to stock on quality lipstick!
ReplyDeleteha, i won't pay more than $10. and you look incredible with those red lips! love!
ReplyDeleteI would say no more than $15 per tube!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't pay more than $20 for lipstick...this lipstick looks great on you! I also don't branch out on colors because of my fair skin, but it looks great on you! Hope to give it a try!
ReplyDeleteIt's been forever since I actually bought a lipstick! I tend to be more of a gloss kind of girl... But I would probably say $15!
ReplyDeletepretty colors! i'm funny about lipstick but i'm also frugal. i believe there are some amazing options at target and the drugstore. but at the same time if i found something i fell in love with i would pay like $25... maybe...
ReplyDeleteI would pay $15 or so...
ReplyDeleteNo more than $10 I think.
ReplyDelete10 dolla make you holla! lol 10 is probably my max!! I lose stuff too easily to justify more than that!
ReplyDeleteI would say $16. I'm more of a chapstick girl, but I do occasionally use clinique's lipstick (samples) or estee lauders - both of which I really like.
ReplyDeletehttp://laurensweetnothings.blogspot.com/
I wouldn't pay more than $10 on a lipstick. If it were spectacular I guess I would pay up to $20.
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/#!/DanielleMCurtis
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, the $9.99 price tag on these is a little over my usual. I am currently loving Revlon's lip butters, which are about $7.99, but I usually have a $2 off coupon for Target or can find them Buy One Get One 50% off at CVS, Ulta, etc.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't pay more than $10 for a lipstick, because I don't wear it often honestly.
ReplyDeleteI think anything over $15 is a bit pricey for lipstick. I love the Aveda Nourish Mint collection, and those are my max price : $15-$16. :)
ReplyDeleteI tweeted about this giveaway : https://twitter.com/creativeschmidt/status/209664778896023552
ReplyDelete$10.00 is my max for lipstick
ReplyDeleteI think the most I've paid is around $35. I am a lipstick junkie and have a million!

ReplyDeleteOhh...this is a tough one. LOL. I would say no more than $10- BUT, if there is one I like that is more, and say its the last one- than Im buying it. lol
ReplyDeleteBTW- both those colors look FAB on you!
Normally I don't think I'd want to pay $10 especially if I were trying something for the first time but if I loved the shade and the brand had a good reputation, I'd shell out up to $20. Beyond that, no way, I don't wear lipstick enough.
ReplyDeleteIf there is one that I am very happy with, I don't feel like there should be a limit of what to spend on it. I'll use it enough to get my moneys worth.
ReplyDeleteI would say $25! It is just lipstick...!
ReplyDeleteI would say no more than $10-15 because I don't wear lipstick hardly ever!
ReplyDeleteI don't wear much lip stick, but I wouldn't pay more than $10.
ReplyDeleteUsually no more thatn $10. Maybe $15 if I really like it!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't pay more than $15 for a lipstick. Unless maybe it's the PERFECT red. I'm always on the hunt to "THE" red for me. :)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't pay more than $20 for lipstick.
ReplyDeleteim more of a gloss gal, so i'd say around $12 is my limit for lipstick.
ReplyDeletethanks so much for the giveaway :)
I love lipstick so I would say over $16 is too much because one of my favorites is $16!!!

I am loving revlon lip butters and they are only 7-8 bucks, but I do think that if it's $3 bucks and it's sucky then you spent too much but if it feels amazing and it suits you then maybe spending a little more is worth it! It's about finding the happy medium!

ReplyDeleteLOVE your makeup looks!! The bold lips make me want to try them out!! :)
I don't typically wear lipstick but my limit is about $12 for lip color of any kind =) I always lose it or get tired of the color quickly.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could pay more than 20$ for a lipstick! Who know though, knowing me:)
ReplyDeletei'm scared of lipstick, so anything more than a $10 tube would not happen for me.
ReplyDeleteYou are too cute with those bright lips!!

Love them both! They look great on you.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big lipstick fan. I have a couple of good reds, but mostly lots of nude shades. I probably wouldn't pay much more than $10.
I love my lip color (gloss, lipstick or whatever) but Im very frugal and dont like to spend more than $5 and even that is pushing it for me. But If I found one that stayed on and didnt need reapplying all during the day I think I'd be willing to pay more.
ReplyDeleteI love to wear lipstick, and it does help to moisturize my lips. However, I will never pay more than $15 for one.
ReplyDeletei would probably pay no more than $20 for a really good lipstick that was more neutral...and no more than $5-$10 for a trendier color.
ReplyDeleteDo you realize how drop dead gorgeous you are in that first photo? Seriously girl! Get it ;)
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing all about this brand and I need to try it! Count me in for the giveaway :)
I won't pay more then $8.

I won't pay more than $15. I really like MAC lipsticks but they are still fairly affordable around that price. Some of my cheaper lipsticks ball up and I hate that. Sometimes you do get what you pay for :/
ReplyDeleteI won't pay more than $10 for lipstick. I received a couple of Chanel tubes as a gift and love them. They might be worth the splurge when I run out.
ReplyDeleteI have paid $25 for a lipstick and $1! It's all about the color and texture.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would pay more than $15!
ReplyDeleteI won't spend more than $15 dollars for a lipstick. I haven't found one that I absolutely love to pay more than $15.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE lipstick! I'm a cheapo, though, so unless it was a gift, I won't spend more than four bucks for a lipstick.
ReplyDeleteanything more than $20 is too much for me

I don't wear lipstick very often but when I do I want it to be quality and long wearing. I think over $25 is too much to pay.
ReplyDeleteI usually won't spend over $15. Unless I really LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI'm a makeup junkie like you so if I find something I love and know I'll wear, I'll buy it. That being said, I think the most I've spent on lipstick/gloss/shine/stain is around $25. Totally worth every cent! Thanks for the cool giveaway!
ReplyDeletei love those colors on you! i personally wouldn't pay more than $20 for lipstick, BUT i think it also depends on you. if it's the perfect shade for you and you wear it 24/7 then i think it's ok to wear more.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't pay more than $15 for a lipstick.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could pay more than $15 for lipstick :)
ReplyDeleteI am so picky! I hate to spend more than $15 because I change so often!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't spend more than $15... unless it was for YSL and that's only because their packaging is to die for!
ReplyDeletei would never spend more than $20... unless it was life changing lipstick, then i might consider it.
ReplyDeleteto tell you the truth i wouldn't spend more than 7 dollars on lipstick unless it was perfect for me. but i just i think i look like a clown with lipstick! i prefer lip gloss or stain!
ReplyDeleteI don't really wear lipstick so I'll say $10-15 is my max. But if I find one I love, I'd pay more.

ReplyDeleteI wouldn't pay more than $40
ReplyDeleteI think over $18 is too much to pay for lipstick. After all, they do last for a while because I have quite a few different colors to choose from. I love that gorgeous red color. So vibrant for Summer!

ReplyDeleteI won't pay more than $12 for a lipstick or lip gloss! MAYBE I'll pay $15 if it's one I know I love though.

ReplyDeleteI'm normally more of a gloss girl, so I think the most I've spent on lipstick is $15 & I don't think I would spend much more.
ReplyDeleteusually I won't pay more than $10. I'm willing to go a bit higher if it's a special lipstick, like my Ruby Woo from MAC.
ReplyDeleteI have love lip products WAY too much. But I'd have to say, $25 is probably the top I'd pay. But even then it would have to be REALLY worth it.
ReplyDeleteI won't spend more than $10. I change colors too often to spend much more.
ReplyDeleteI think my limit would be $10, but I don't buy lipstick too often!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't pay more then $15 for lipstick. Mainly because I have never found a color that I truly love so I switch all the time.
ReplyDeleteI probably wouldnt spend more than $15 on lipstick.
ReplyDeleteI'm very new to wearing lipstick, but I'd say $15.

i normally wouldn't pay more than $10 for a lipstick, unless it's something i know i can and will wear almost every day. i'm loving the pink!
ReplyDeleteI used to think the $34 price tag on the YSL lipsticks were too high but now I'm considering buying some because of the great reviews and the cute colors. But $34 would be my cut off!!
ReplyDeleteI probably wouldn't spend more than $10!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't spend over $25.
ReplyDeleteI love that pinky fusia color.
I would say $25 for lipstick bc I am always on the search for the perfect shade..which I will NEVER find :). Great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMore than $35. $35 is even a little steep for me, but for some YSL or Chanel, it's worth it. :)

I probably wouldnt spend more then $15 on lipstick. I like to change it up to much and its not worth spending more if Im going to change up all the time.

Well sheesh, I guess the price depends on what brand I'm going to buy. I fork over the cash for MAC at $16 bucks a pop but I've also bought Yves St Lauren and Chanel for over $35. I think you do get what you pay for but I still love some cheap finds too. : )
ReplyDeleteIf I am purchasing a lipstick from a drugstore/superstore, like Target, I would not spend more than 7$. I typically will spend more if is is from a cosmetic company like MAC or Bare Essentials.
ReplyDeleteI don't like to spend too too much on lipstick unless I've tested it and know I LOVE it. If I haven't tested it I probably won't spend more than $7-$10 on a tube!
ReplyDeleteIt would pay no more that $15 for lipstick!
ReplyDeleteI don't love lipstick, so I won't pay more than $6 for a tube! If I found something I would love to wear every day, I might would go with $10.

ReplyDeleteI norm wouldn't go over 20:)
ReplyDeleteNo more than $20, but I typically buy lip gloss more often!
ReplyDeleteI generally don't like paying more than 10 for a lip color since I don't wear them much. I spend more on the makeup that I get a lot more use out of.
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of a lipstick junkie - I love it! Hmm, how much is to much.. I wouldn't pay over $40, and if it were close to that it would be because of the fancy packaging!
ReplyDeleteI would DEFINITELY pay 9.99 for lipstick if it's as good as you say this one is! I just hate, hate, hate that sticky feeling most lipsticks leave on your lips. And I am definitely more of a shiny lipstick type of girl. If it meets all my qualities, I'd may $15-20. But I'm pretty picky about my lipstick!
ReplyDeleteThese are both so cute. I've been looking for a lipstick that lasts. I won't pay more than $10 for lipstick though. Thanks for sharing!

Those colors look really good on you. Believe it or not the only time I've worn lipstick is when I was younger playing in my moms make up. I am so fair skinned that I just use a gloss. I wish I could pull those colors off, like you! Since I don't wear lipstick I'm going to sit this giveaway out. I just wanted to tell you how great those colors looked on you. Happy Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteI say 8 Dollars, although I somehow always get free lipstick, its strange. Someone hands me a tube or gloss from a lancome gift, usually my mom or friend julie, Or I wear a nude MAC color that somehow has lasted me years. I guess I don't wear too much lipstick! I also just got a free one from my wedding make up people, so the free lipstick continues. But, if I had none of these, I'd buy an 8 dollar tube at tarjay.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a lipstick person at all. I have to use gloss and I don't think I could spend more than $8 on it. Now eyeshadow is a different story...
