If I'm ever looking for new products to try, I go online to check-out the Best of Beauty winners, make a list and buy. That's how this happened during a recent trip to Target:
I'll talk about the Almay make-up eraser sticks and Boots No. 7 Beauty Serum in a separate post because today's post is all about hair.
The Dove Nourishing Oil Care Detangler, which was actually brought to my attention via my bloggie bestie Raven (not the Best of Beauty), the John Frieda 3-Day straight semi-permanent styling spray and the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner have all been added to my hair care routine. It's true love.
I'm going to talk about these products in the order in which I use them, so first up is the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner. This stuff is priced right. Less than $5! It's a thick cream and it smells so fruity and yummy.

Next up is the Dove spray. After towel drying your hair, shake the bottle up to blend the oils and spray generously. For me, that means a lot of sprays. I have a TON of hair and it's ridiculously long and wavy so it tangles like nobody's business. Legit, it takes me upwards of 20 minutes to brush my hair. I absolutely hate brushing my hair after a shower. Woe is me.
After coating your hair with as many sprays as you personally need, comb through. I promise it will not make your hair oily. I have enough oils in my hair so the last thing I need is more. The argan oil and almond oil give your hair a great shine and make it much easier to brush through.

Last, but not least, we have the John Frieda Frizz-Ease 3-Day Straight which might be my favorite of the three. It's a spray with heat protection that blocks frizz out as you blow dry/flat iron. Seriously it works wonders. I have used this several times now and my hair is easier to blow dry straight and actually stays straight, smooth and shiny for at least a few days. I NEED that John Frieda stuff! It would probably save me hours every week! Wish I could have seen those beautiful locks while you were in Charleston!
ReplyDeletei think i need all of these in my life.

ReplyDeleteMust try this frizz stuff immed!
That Dove stuff is Heaven in a spray bottle! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI use a heat protectant from John Frieda, but I may have to give the 3 day straight a try! I saw it when I was at ulta the other day but decided against it...However, if the bargain blonde says get it...I may be going back to buy it. haha
What a great post! Although I have thin, fine, stick-straight hair, my 5-year old daughter's hair seems to be very much like yours. I can't wait to try these products out on her :)
ReplyDeleteJUST last night bought the Dove spray! Excited to use it and see how it works with my hair. :) Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously need all of these!! Especially with the summer humidity!!!
ReplyDeleteOff to buy them this weekend!!! :) thanks lady. Need to prepare for this Houston heat stroke I'm about to have!
ReplyDeleteMy hair gets so tangled after I take a shower. Seriously it's bad. I am so going to try the Dove spray. Thanks for the great hair tips :)
ReplyDeleteOh I see. So now I'm getting referred to as "blogger Raven" instead of "my Bestie" or some rendition of the word.
ReplyDeleteI? Am so offended.
Love the Aussie 3 Minute... I've been using it for a few years and it does wonders!
ReplyDeleteI get lots o frizzies in the humidity here in Texas, so I ALWAYS use It's a Ten...like, religiously. I love it! Smells good, conditions, protects from the heat, and tames the frizzies! I think your hair could be standing on end and you would still be gorgeous, though!!!
ReplyDeleteOkay I need to go get these like now. Thanks for reviewing, I never know if I should completely trust the magazines!!
ReplyDeleteand if i were still straightening my hair, i promise i would try these products. just because you said to.
ReplyDeletethat's better :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Aussie conditioner. It really does make your hair feel baby soft, I love that feeling. I'm going to have to try the other two products because your hair looks super amazing! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to try the spray and the 3 day straight. I've looked at them both but haven't been sure enough to buy them. Next Target trip (which is every other day...so probably today....) for sure!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to try the spray and the 3 day straight. I've looked at them both but haven't been sure enough to buy them. Next Target trip (which is every other day...so probably today....) for sure!
ReplyDeleteI'm doing to have to try the 3 day straight spray! This curly hair chick needs all the straightening support she can get! I also was introduced to the glory of the Dove spray by Raven. It's amazing! I can't get over how much I love that stuff :)
ReplyDeletei'm definitely going to give the aussie 3 minute miracle a try! i have fine naturally straight hair so i only condition about twice a week max & that sounds like it will be perfect for the job!
ReplyDeleteI've been using the Aussie stuff for years --love it!
ReplyDeleteI tried the Dove and it's amaze!
Guess I need to get this John Freida stuff cuz my curls/waves are out of control when my hair is wet! Thanks for the scoop!
I've seen these around but haven't tried any of them, might have to!
ReplyDeleteI just posted a review of products for curly/wavy hair and would love if you could check it out and let me know what you think!
Loove the 3-minute miracle...been using it for years! Might just have to try that John Frieda product...esp with the humidity we get out here!
ReplyDeletePS...I know you're in Dallas, but I will be in Houston sometime this fall! I thought I would share because I've never been to Texas (with the exception of DFW airport for a layover) and I'm sooo excited!! :) Let me know if you know of anything cool to do in the Houston area!
I need to try the Dove oil, like yesterday!!
ReplyDeleteI already love the Aussie 3 Min stuff but I need to try these other two. My hair is pretty straight already but I'm obsessed with it being smooth and I think the other two will def help with that. Thanks for the rec as always lady :)
ReplyDeleteI love love the dove spray!!! It works great! I need to try these other 2 products! If you use the 3 day straight when you blowout will your hair still hold curling iron/hot roller curls? I have super curly hair naturally so I blow out my hair but I love to curl it to give it more bounce after I blow it out.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with the aussie. I love that coconut smell.
ReplyDeleteI already use an argan oil, but it's stupid expensive. I'm trying the dove one asap.
thanks for the recommendations love!

gosh just move to Kentucky and do my hair/makeup/life. : )
ReplyDeleteI looked for the Dove spray at CVS recently cause your girl Raven talked about how awesome it is, but they didn't have it! Guess I gotta make yet another trip to Target. I put very little in my hair. I use a wee bit of shine serum + nourishing spray conditioner after I'm done drying/curling/whatever, but that's it. Sometimes I use nothing.
ReplyDeleteI HATE drying my hair because it takes forever. So sad I can't afford Brazilian blowouts anymore.
Can't wait to get my paws on these products. Thanks, as always, for the awesome suggestions!
Love Love Love this post. I have curly hair too but prefer to blow it out. I love John Freida's hair serum. LOOOOVE.
ReplyDeleteI am currently doing my favorite makeup items, so this ties right in with that! You should check it out.

ReplyDeleteI need to try the John Frieda stuff!! I've seen it a lot but never picked it up. Sounds amazing!
The aussie deep conditioning treatment is amazing! I'm defnitely going to try to DOVE product! I love when you do these posts! :)
ReplyDeleteGuess who bought #1 and #3 today...and would have bought #2 if they weren't out of it at the store? That would be me :)
ReplyDeleteI'm putting them to the test tomorrow.
I love that John Freda stuff! I actually use biosilk serum if I straighten my hair. And you're right we do have the same type of hair, I'm not going to lie I'm loving your messy curls!!! But your hair looks beautiful straight too, love the color!
ReplyDeleteI have a similar Dove product, but it's in a pump. I couldn't find the one Raven mentioned. I've got to hunt it down. I also really need the Frizz-Ease stuff. I have so many teeny tiny flyaways. It drives me insane!
ReplyDeletei gotta get on that aussie conditioner!
ReplyDeleteAussie 3MM is something that will always be in my shower from now on to eternity! I've bought other, more expensive hair masks & I keep coming back to the 3MM. It's amazing!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely going to pick up the Dove & John Frieda sprays. This girl always needs to try new products. ;)
Can't wait to hear what you think of the Almay Eraser Sticks. I LOVE THEM!! Especially when doing a winged liner look.
Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteCurious if you're linking up today? :) Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips. I love trying new products that people actually like. I am going to try the Dove spray. I just hope its not too heavy for my fine hair.
ReplyDeletehmmm I must run to Target. I need these things. I love that pic of you, for reals. xo Is that Beth in the background?
ReplyDeleteLooove the dove hair therapy! Uhhh-mazing! Picking up the JF & Aussie products today! :) I've got thick, frizzy hair so hopefully it helps tame this wild mane! :)
ReplyDeleteI think I'll definitely try that Aussie conditioner!
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE the conditioner and hair detangler (thanks, Raven!). I may have to try the John Freida spray... I am almost out of my expensive salon cream and need something to protect my hair when I blow dry.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any suggestions on Moroccan oil, etc? My hair was basically TRIPLE processed Thurs night and I need something to protect it!
Thanks, Lady :)
I bought the first two of these thanks to you (um, what would I do without my BB recommendations?!?!) and I love them. I used them both in the same day (showered w/the deep conditioner and then used the Dove spray) so I don't know which one of them is responsible for making my hair SO SILKY . . . but today I'm gonna shower and just use the Dove spray to test it out. LOVE THEM!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the dove recommendation. It works super well, and was $4.88 hollaaa
