I kicked the weekend off by having dinner and drinks with my girly friends Liz and Stefanie Friday night at a deelish Italian restaurant. It's safe to say I gained 10 lbs from this meal:
Eggplant parm, angel hair pasta with garlic, olive oil, fresh tomatoes and basil, pepperoni and black olive pizza and our drinks! |
The lights outside the restaurant were so magical! We picked the perfect place for a holiday din. Don't you think?
Saturday I got a lot of shopping done during the day. One of the stores I hit up was Ulta, and I couldn't resist buying myself a little sumthin, sumthin: "Your Hut or Mine" from the essie resort collection 2011. It was on sale for $5.99, so basically I took it as a sign from Santa to get myself an early Christmas gift.
It's hard to tell in the picture I took with my cell phone above, but the color has a really pretty shimmer to it:

Sunday I picked my Mom up from the airport and brought her a Sonic diet cherry limeaide like I always do because she doesn't have Sonic by her in North Carolina. I'm a good daughter, so I like to make her jealous with Sonic drink pics:
We went to lunch then did some more shopping. I'm sure this will come as a shock, but I bought myself a few things that were on sale when we were at Old Navy. This sports bra (on clearance) to wear around the house or to sleep in because it's a low impact bra. So. effing. comfortable. I want 100 more.

And my new obsession? Sleeping in over-sized flannel t-shirts. It's seriously the only thing I've slept in for the past few weeks. Old navy has some that are long and I love them so I got another while I was there. It was on sale for $12.

Last but not least, Reese had his church Christmas play Sunday night. Naturally, he took the sheep he was holding and sang with it on his head. He is so my nephew:
Don't you just want to steal him? I don't blame you.
To cap the weekend off, I did one of my favorite things: WRAPPED PRESENTS!! For reals y'all, in a second life I'm coming back as a professional present wrapper. I'm not saying I'm good at wrapping, I just love to do it. This little lady is on her way to Greenville, SC for my boo Beth.
Last but not least, don't forget that it is still the 12 Days of Blogger Giveaways! Head on over to Keep Calm and Carry On to see the awesome stuff Katie is giving away for the seventh day of Christmas.
I wore one of those Old Navy button downs to work this weekend. And I have never been more comfy : )
ReplyDeletemy mouth literally drooled at those pics... oh my gosh... must go eat....
Um that food looks so good! And your nephew is too adorable!
ReplyDeleteOk your nephew is the cutest. I am obsessed with Old Navy bra tops like, as soon as I am done working out I put one on for the rest of the night!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shoutout pretty! Want to know what I'm obsessed with sleeping in now? Onesies. not the baby type..but the ones with footies. I figured this out after wearing it to a ugly christmas sweater party this past wknd. Those things aren't kidding...soooo comfy!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun weekend! I love Ulta! Every time I go in there they are having a new sale....it's hard not to walk out with the entire store!! Essie is my fave nail polish. I just got the new Luxe shimmery color for the holidays. Love it!! :)
ReplyDeleteFUN WEEKEND!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE me some polish! Love that color.... how the heck do you get your nails to look so good... mine always smudge! :(
I love essie! You have to try mint candy apple, its my fav color by them =]
ReplyDeleteAwe I am so super jealous of you I STINK at wrapping presents no matter how hard I try they always look awful and I cant do a bow to save my life:( Come to MS and teach this girl!!! I have a deprived life evidently hahahahah
ReplyDeletei totally snuck in some opi nail polish for myself in with my christmas shopping. lol. i couldnt resist the mermaid tears from their pirates of the caribbean collection.
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted a long sleep shirt. I see the ones in the VS magazine all the time and think "I need that" but have never bought one. Now that I'm housing a fetus though, I think I might wait. I feel like the bump would make it way more drafty than it should be by letting in extra air when lounging. I mean, maybe I'm thinking too much into it.
ReplyDeleteAlso I think if I really liked it, I'd be sad when suddenly it no longer fit.
You can absolutely wrap all of mine if you want to! I stink!!
ReplyDeletei need that flannel shirt to sleep in ... looks so comfortable ... and we know that is the only way to sleep :)
ReplyDeletei enjoy wrapping presents too ... i intend on getting pretty wrapping paper, bows and ribbon on sale after Christmas clearance that way i can look all professional next year.
p.s. great nail polish color! i have to try out Essie for myself!
That nail color is simply fantastic. It is on my "to get" list now! Reese cracks me up! What a little spitfire!
ReplyDeleteLovely nail color!! I also am digging the over sized shirts to lounge around in. Comfy!!
ReplyDeleteI love that nail polish color and Diet Cherry Limeades! Reese is too precious! Such a cutie!

ReplyDeleteHad so much fun Fri night!! A definite new tradition. Aaaand I kinda wanna go back to patrizio's for that pasta this week. Soooo good!! Did you see the DIY gel manicure kits at Ulta? The ones that dont require the light? Well I got it, so I'll let you know how it goes.
ReplyDeleteLove love love love SONIC!!! I could drink their Orange Cherry creamslush everyday!!! and then I would be a big fat cow!
ReplyDeleteThat is nice of your to bring it to your mommio!
All that food looks amazing..can I please nom it all get a food baby and then wear the oversized flannel to cover up my beastly belly.
k, thanks bia!
Haha, it's funny that you say it's not a very "wintery" color because I was at the Rite Aid with my friend the other day and I kept picking out cute pinky bright beachy colors and she kept saying, "no you can't get those, it's winter not summer!" I say, who cares, wear what you want!
ReplyDeleteBish... you failed to mention the best part of your Friday.... which was clearly mine & PLLs entertaining phone call. Duh.
ReplyDeletelooks like such a fun dinner with the girls! i just ate a dinner full of carbs and im sure i gained 10 lbs. too :)
ReplyDeletei need to get some of those bras. i hardly ever go without (even while sleeping) so comfy ones are a necessity. and im going to try out the flannel shirt thing. seriously.
and love the essie polish... ive got to find something fun and festive for new years eve.
I was seriously thinking like a day ago that I need some new sports bras in my life. My boyf is OBSESSED with UnderArmour so I thought I'd do him proud and get a coupla those babies but now that I know I can get some at ON on the chizzeap I may just have to go that route.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE long flannel shirts and leggings and boots. You make me want to cheat on my budget and my diet.
The food spread looks so yummy...looks like a great weekend!

I love everything about this post! You and your friends are gorgeous and it looks like you had a great, holiday time together! That picture of all the lights is sooo beautiful!! I need to find a street like that.
ReplyDeleteEssie nail polish goes on SALE?! How did I not know that/ever get my hands on some discounted Essie? That color is so pretty!
Oh, and the pic of you and Sonic? Yep, your make-up is perfect! Lastly, I want to try this oversized button-up for lounging/sleeping trend. I think I'll dig it :)
Personally I don't "get" the Sonic frenzy...but I'm surprised they don't have them in NC! We have a couple here in the Greenville SC area and we're only an hour from the NC border...
ReplyDeletethat food looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteI am in love/obsessed with Essie nail polish! LOVE
ReplyDeleteI may or may not have had dinner at Patrizio's again last night. I devoured my entire plate of baked ziti. We don't go there enough.
ReplyDeleteI wish Patrizio's delivered.
