The Target Curse

Last night I went to Target to stock up on my beloved Purpose face wash and this may or may not be my receipt from that little excursion:

Excuse?  What is it with Target?  I've decided there must be a "Target Curse" because this happens to my checking account every. single. time.  I know I'm not the only one.  Maybe I should just ban myself from going there. Hahahahaha ... yah right.  You know, it's times like these I'm glad I don't have a husband who monitors my spending.  I'd be in T-R-O-U-B-L-E.

I had the best of intentions.  I was going to run in, get my face wash and go home.  As usual, the Target Curse got the best of me.  Next thing you know I'm rummaging through the Dollar Spot, perusing the beauty rows, stopping by the doggy aisle (a new stop for me), picking out Easter candy for my nephew, checking out the home decor and I knew it would be a bad idea, but can you really go to Target and not take a peek at the clothes?

I found so many cute dresses and tops, but I resisted purchasing any clothing items since my cart was already full of $130 worth of who knows what.  That's not to say I don't want to go back and scoop some stuff up.  Specifically, all of these flirty Spring combos, which are less than $75 each:

Do you love?  I love. If I didn't have a little thing called bills to pay for, I'd buy all of these outfits.

Speaking of outfits.  May I direct attention to this little Bargain Blonde adorned in what looks like a puff paint t-shirt, white ruffle socks and pink Keds?  God bless the fashion of the 90s.  We've come a long way kiddos.

Everyone have a Happy Passover or a Happy Good Friday/Easter!  May you resist this Target Curse this weekend.

  7. Don't I know it? Target is the devil, straight up! You should get that EEBA app, totally helps maintain control over one's budget. I just posted about it just now. :)

  8. Happens to me every time! I went in for face wash on tuesday and ended up spending about $75! I was so eyeing the 2nd dress to the right! I must have it

  9. It's true for everyone who enters Target, I feel sure. I come up with a ridiculous amount of stuff I "need" when I enter that godforsaken store. The only plus side to being on crutches is that I no longer have any desire to walk around leisurely through any store, which may be good for my bank account in the long run.

  10. Every. Single. Time. I have never, in my entire memory, left under $100. Ever.

  11. Since our Target is a Super Target and I go there for groceries, I've actually been really good about not going and getting random things anymore! (Although I DO have to have a list when I go in, or lots of cookies, cakes, and breads will be added.) I'm trying to not let myself go into the home decor section at all because our house is in SERIOUS need of some improvement.

  12. Target wins again! I even catch myself cruising around the food area just to prolong the experience! haha

  13. Yes! What is with Target? In fact yesterday was the first time ever I have left without spending over $100! though I JUST went in for two Easter goodies and somehow spent $85 and came out with shoes, a hat, cookies, and a new bottle warmer for the baby...ack! My hubby never lets me go there with his card in my purse :)

  14. Ha ha ... love it! There seriously is some kind of force shield the envelopes your wallet in that place and won't let you leave unless you spend at least $75. Happens to me every. single. time.

  16. Target gets the best of me every time! I actually have to go there tonight and am actually dreading it because I'll be doing the same thing as you did....perusing down the aisles when I only need to go get light bulbs. Maybe I should let the hubs go instead. Have a Happy Easter weekend!

  23. Girl! This is so me... In fact, my husband challenged me to not go to Target at ALL this month... I stocked up on things I thought I would run out of in the middle of the month so that I wouldn't break! I can't WAIT till May gets here... This is serious.

Anywho. I LOVE all those outfits! So cute! Happy Easter!

  24. I posted about the EXACT SAME THING a few months back on my blog. Every time I go for diapers or baby formula, I walk out with new shoes, new clothes, makeup I don't need, home decor I have no room for...and a lot less moola in my wallet.

  33. Just found your blog - love ittt!!!

And yes, Target takes my money ALL the time. I did just sign-up for their Debit Card program though. It's not a credit card, so you can't get yourself in trouble there. It's linked directly to your checking out and you still save 5% on your entire total. If you shop there as much as I do it's worth it. :)

  34. I has this white one!! AND now I can wear it!! wooo hooo!
